Hey, what if we had a separate trade forum like realgm? That way we could just talk Kings when we wanted, then when we need to get our trade fix we could post there and not bother everyone else.
My thought is we're going to have to give value for value. If we even seriously think about Kevin Garnett, we aren't going to be able to get him without it hurting at least a little. Bobby IS valuable, that's what makes it a possibility.
They aren't happy with the Alien, so sending Bobby AND Peja and whatever else it takes just might make it tempting to Kevin McHale. Who knows what kind of magic Petrie might be able to cast?
I hear ya MR Moustache something about me cannot let Bibby go. KG's main problem in MN is that he had nobody like a Bibby to control the offense. If we get KG with Bibby then we need to start counting the rings Wishful thinking I know
I don't think so... If we have to get rid of all three of them, then it's not worth bringing KG here IMHO. I want to see how Bibby plays with KG at the 4/5. I think it could be something VERY special and wonderful. If Bibby is gone, so is the possibility of the magic...
That really would be too steep for me I think. If we got KG, the #1 guy I would want to keep with him would be Bibby. Think they would make a nasty combo, and we'd be 1 good scorer away from being a contender (Bibby basically is Cassel from last year, just without the intense selfish streak, we'd need to find Spree from last year + solid support players to be right bakc int he mix).
As an aside, I'm not sure even KG would cost all three of the main guys. Do think he'd cost two of them + sweetner though.
Speaking of which, having an offensive specialist as an assistant coach has definately done the team well over the years. Maybe picking up a defensive specialist too would be the most effective way of improving the team. (Oh yeah, and a physical big man and a perimeter defender/playmaker SG.)
Minny wouldn't even do this in NBA Live 2005. Unless, we package Bibby, Peja and Brad, Minny wouldn't even consider the trade. Why trade the cornerstone of your franchise just entering his prime for a vanishing act in Peja, injury prone Bobby and undersized Sweetney? I think the Kings should look into getting a sleeper at either position. Look what Indiana did a few years ago by trading Davis for Jermaine O'Neal. One possible candidate is Chris Wilcox from the Clippers. He started the season off well, but doesn't play much behind Brand and Kaman. He's 6'11, athletic, could possible block some shots, but his offensive game is still a bit raw. Plus we wouldn't have to trade much to get him since he barely plays for the Clips. Package someone like Corliss to get him. LA could get some juice off the bench and we could get our starting pf.
Minny's melt-down this season may make KG at least a little easier to get than a lot of people think.
Granted, if they're going into rebuiling/panic mode, KG would make the most sense to hang on to. But, some combination including Peja/Miller for KG doesn't seem to be entriely unreasonable.
And, as many have said, losing Bibby to get KG takes away one of the things that makes the possibility of getting him so interesting.
