Welcome Patrick Ewing Jr.!

This may be the only welcome he ever gets for us, as an actual spot on the roster will be hard to get. Hey -- we actually drafted a roleplayer. But normally you would like your roleplayers to be good enoguh to at least start in college.

Reminds me of the goofy old days in the NBA when teams would draft 10, 12, 15 rounds, and the late rounds were filled with all sorts of crazy "name" picks. You'd draft Chuck Norris or something just to say you'd drafted him. Now we can say we drafted Patrick Ewing. ;)

honestly though, i think we can grab the real ewing as a coach if we keep his son on the team .. kinda like what went on with roger clemens and his son .. yup, a roger clemens reference.

KT and SAR greets him in the gym

Welcome PEJR... heres a towel.. heres how you wave it.. clockwise.... then counter clockwise here is where you sit.. right beside us :D

well im not saying he will be a pine rider for his tenure but i sure hope he turns into a Gerald wallace type of player...

maybe this is an insurance just incase artest decides to opt out we have a bench energy type of guy like him :P

Only thing I can figure is that Petrie feels like he wasn't used well at Georgetown. You know, he couldn't get off the bench, his numbers don't look good, he's 24 years old.... I guess we'll see in D-League. He's certainly got NBA-level athleticism, and sometimes that's the most important thing.

For the 43rd pick in the draft, this is a GREAT pick!!! He was good enough to start at Georgetown. I think they just liked the role he provided with his energy and athleticism off the bench. I saw several of Georgetown's games this year, and there were many times he was the best player on the court. I personally think this is a steal. Most 2nd rounders never see an NBA court. He has a chance to really contribute to this team in a couple years.

He's not their starter. I was at Georgetown the year they made it to the Final Four and watch many of their games. Patrick Ewing was a bench role player.

heh.. You aren't serious are you?

Think of a poor mans Jamario Moon/Dhantay Jones... A REAL poor mans version of those two.

Like NBADL bench player......

Like Summer Rec League in Sacramento Bench player........

Like send your fat kid to summer camp, and they play a game of basketball on a plastic rim 6ft off the ground bench player.....

Don't be so hard on the guy. He is a VERY athletic, defensive minded, spark plug. He can block shots, and gives instant energy. He was the NCAA 6th man of the year, or, however they phrase it. He could be a very solid role player/off the bench guy. You have to build a good bench to. He has the potential for this. From what everyone is saying he is very coachable and a very hard worker with freakish athleticism.

uhh..he's not as good as you think. I"ve seen him play plenty at georgetown. He's a tweener that stuck between the 3 and 4 position. He was the 6th man for the hoya not the ncaa. Personally, I never thought he was that great even at georgetown.
