I’m not sure how a big shooter like McDermott wasn’t already in camp somewhere given the state of the league (big shooters are one of the most important pieces in modern basketball) but I’ll take it.

Can never really have too many shooters. JMac, Huerter, Monk, Mcbuckets and Lyles all capable of shooting 38 percent or better on good volume off the bench.

Great move. 3pt shooting is a real weakness for this team. If he can make them at 40%+, I think he plays around 25mpg for us.

Others seemed comfortable with our bench, I was not as sure.

Watching Huerter change his shot every other week is not as important now (you know having a shooter who can actually shoot).

I love this... I mean you know exactly what you get with Mcdermott. He's gonna play 20 to 25 min per game, shoot over 40% from three. Yeah, maybe someone like Crowder gives you a little more toughness, but McDermott is still an excellent shooter, whereas Crowder is just going to be OK at everything at this point in his career. I feel like you go for the elite skill more times than not.
