Welcome Zach LaVine!

I heard the Warriors going after Durant and Lebron and need teams to join in. Could the Kings help out with the salary and maybe get a piece like Wiggins? Heat doesn't want to take on contracts. So if the Heat going to ship Butler to Suns and Suns shipping KD to Warriors...another team need to absorb contracts to meet the requirements? What about Looney?

I don't know exactly what that first one is, but I'm pretty sure you don't call a press conference 24 hours before the trade deadline to say you're done.

they’re probably just quarantining the “why did you fire Mike brown?” “Why don’t you love us?” Questions from the Hamster and Furious Georges of the world so Sac LaBeam doesn’t have to sit through them at his presser before the game.

Yeah, Monte probably knows he's about to get bombarded and he doesn't want the Zach presser to be where all the media guys vent, poke, and prod. Time for Monte to answer for his sins, haha.

Paul Johnson tall as hell. Can he play backup five?
The vibes are good.

Lavine is interesting as a basketball persona re: Sacramento. Though he was young when it happened his hometown is a small market team that was ripped away. He's played in a big market, and now back to a small market that has something to prove. Something tells me he's going to stick.

Plus there's the Seattle connection with Christie.

Is this the first presser since before the Detroit game? I imagine the bloodthirsty podbros will want to pepper Monte and anyone else there with questions about the Brown firing and Doug's situation and you know, if they knew Fox was gonna be gone a month later it maybe was easiest to just do it all at once with one "ask us anything presser" after introducing LaVine.

Although it would actually be nice if it was Zach LaVine day I think we all know it won't be.
Matty George getting ready to make tomorrow about him. Lol

Yeah, I think it has to be Jval. I'm pretty convinced on it. He solves a lot of your bench scoring issues and he finally gives us an option to keep pace with Domas off the floor.

In terms of the back-up wing, get one of these young guys the opportunity to go win the job. Colby, Cissoko, Icraw, Ijones. I Jones has given us flashes this year so far, see if he can continue to build on it.
I know it takes two to tango but if that’s who they want, i need them to hurry and get it done. Don’t even wait for Thursday cuz someone else will certainly nab him.

I'd actually move Deebo to try and balance the roster if possible. But (1) I don't know what his market will be and (2) ideally you'd want to send him to a contender. To do otherwise is pretty crappy.
I'm inclined to keep Deebo, since he & Zach have a motivation to prove themselves with this small window of opportunity that could be really useful to this team, while Domas and Monk are in their prime.
I think if we can get not 2-way but a long wing with good defense.
The advantage is we could keep Deebo in the starting lineup, he has proven he's a valuable piece of the team now.
Depending on matchups, the wing could log heavy minutes from the bench, limiting Deebo's, unless it's a crunch time.
A wing with good defense could be more available and much cheaper since we have a pile of 1&2nd rounders.

Agreed on all counts. The only reason I was considering possible deals for DeRozan was if he really was reconsidering wanting to be in Sacramento. If so, you find him the best landing place you can while getting back players that fit a bit better. But if he wants to be here still? Then you hope he and LaVine take the approach that they have unfinished business and find the success with the Kings that they weren't able to (in large part due to LaVine's injuries) in Chicago.

It's not a great fit. But it can work. One key is for Monte to get a solid backup center and/or a backup wing. Those are clear holes that need to be plugged for the Kings to survive the bumps and bruises of the regular season. Not to mention this team desperately needing bench scoring.
About Deebo wanting to be in Sacramento:

According to Jason Anderson from the Sacbee, he had a talk with Deebo last night and he described Zack as his best friend and is very excited about him joining the team. Now, he reconsiders his thoughts on leaving Sacramento in a recent podcast after Fox’s departure.
