Welcome Jordan Farmar

James Ham tweeted that Farmar has been waived.

Was kinda hoping they would shuffle someone to another team so he could stay. Oh well, really happy to have Collison back.

Kinda sucks again. Farmar is clearly a guy who can help us and we keep on just dumping him off because we are overstuffed with kids eating up all the roster spots and can't seem to think of anything more original to do.

Isn't it possible to trade Papa for the Warriors 2020 second round pick? I'm sure they could use a skilled and talented big to solve their front court ailments :)

It takes two to tango, and this early in the season there probably aren't a lot of teams looking to not only make a trade but also to pull the trigger fast enough. And if not a trade, then we'd have to cut somebody. But the only player we can even remotely plausibly cut is Lawson, who has earned that spot more than Farmar has. Farmar's fate was cast before he even signed the "three-game" deal, and he must have known it.

I saw this coming but I really hope we don't regret keeping Lawson and letting Jordan and the stability he bought go as the season unfolds...

Personally I'm not that sold on Lawson, but then I'm biased. Show me a guard that can't shoot, and I'll show you a player that I don't like. Not only does Lawson struggle to hit an outside shot, he's been having trouble getting to the basket and finishing. And that's despite his quickness. He also has this bad habit of driving into the lane and leaving his feet. I'm glad Collison is back. I'm sorry it cost Farmar his job. Hey! Farmar = UCLA. Thought you'd be on board....

That's why we have Collison as you said. Now we won't have a team with two pgs that should be starting and leaving with the burden of a 6 ft sg as we did last year. We will have real live starters at pg and sg and they will have the appropriate size and skills. I think we will all notice that very quickly. Darn well better.

This whole situation between Kings and Farmer is plain weird.

I still think that the team looks a lot smoother offensively when Farmer is running the show compared to Lawson. Maybe we are giving Lawson a chance for more freedom when he plays with the second unit now that DC is back from suspension.

What is the bet that if Lawson continues to find it difficult that we eventually cut him and sign Farmer?

Im with you. Lawson hasn't been able to finish at the rim all season, ado that to his shooting woes and you have a woefully inefficient version of Rondo who holds the ball less. Same defense, same wack shooting, same numbers all around (maybe less rebounding). We didn't win with Rondo, why would we win with a less functioning version of Rondo?

Welcome Jordan Farmar
Bye Jordan Farmar, thanks
Welcome back Jordan Farmar
Bye again Jordan Farmar, thanks again
Wash, rinse, repeat?

I agree with many others who think Farmar (or Farmer for a couple of us) is a better choice for our backup PG.
Lawson's shooting (or lackthereof) is a problem and the competition will find ways to exploit it. If he doesn't want to become public enemy #1, he'd better show that he can still shoot, and soon.

I thought he had some chance to take the starting job, but after watching his shooting woes I would now be surprised. But the thinking could well be that on the bench he would be the ONLY guy not able to bomb away as Temple, Barnes, Tolliver, and maybe Ben if he hasn't fallen out of the back of the rotation, will al be out there bombing away and creating space. So Ty's constant draw and kick draw and kick may suit that lineup better. Not to mention he'd be taking a lot of backup PGs behind the woodshed.

Farmar is a decent player and I like his shooting from deep but he's not as good as Lawson, even with the terrible shooting touch he has right now. Lawson is much better at staying in front of his man (Farmar was allowing backup PG's to drive by him constantly) and his playmaking skills are way better....which is much needed right now with our stagnant offense. His shooting numbers may not look great but he's setting up guys like Kofous for easy high percentage buckets.

I wish we could keep Farmar at the back end of the bench but there's just no way to do it right now with the influx of kids.
