Webber: "Private investors lined up..."

"It's a great day in Sacramento because the Kings were gone," Webber emphatically added. "And I'm glad we have them there for another year. And within this year, we're going to make some special things happen."

Webber also added that he's hopeful in renewed efforts to build an arena, stating he has private investors lined up to help pay for a new entertainment-and-sports complex.

"I'm very optimistic," he said. "And to the fans, keep the faith and keep praying. But I'm working with a group, I'm working with the mayor, I'm working with the Maloofs. And the goal is to keep the team there."

People are thanking KJ and he deserves every drop of gratitude, but many are forgetting how much Webber has been instrumental in helping the Kings stay. I believe he was the one who found Burkle, which effectively changed Stern's tone.

Either way, Webber is continuing to work hard and I am every bit grateful for that.

Burkle was brought in by Darious Anderson.

I adore Webber. And since I am female and not dead yet, I enjoy everything about that man. ;)

Seriously, I love Chris for loving Sacramento. Thank you!

This is awesome. Thank you, Chris!!!!! You were and always will be my favorite NBA player with KJ a close second, and a splash of Vlade in there somewhere as well... :)

I don't know if people saw the TNT show where he announced all this but he is just major league cool. And he loves Sacramento and its fans. He admitted that his career was made in Sacramento and that despite hhis reluctance to come (near suicidal I believe :) ) he was greatful to the fans. And besides, he doesn't want his uniform hanging anywhere else.

I wonder if Barkley will followup on his $10-15 mil pledge. That's not chicken feed if a bunch of other players would do the same.

I have a question. Why haven't the Maloofs hired Webber in some capacity (maybe like in the role that Bobby currently has)? He's incredibly charismatic, well spoken, and he loves Sacramento. I'm pretty sure he's expressed interest in the past. It just seems like a perfect fit. Do they have something against him?

I think maybe you answered your own question? ;)

You guys are crazy. Webber is probably making ten times what he'd make working for the Kings by working for TNT.

lol what can I say.. I LOVE Webber :)

Remember back about 6-7 years ago when Carson Palmer got injured in the playoffs against the Steelers? The next summer he was out throwing passes and when I say him I kinda had the same feeling as I did for Webber now.. It's just one of those things lol. You see someone and you would go out of your way to shake their hand, and tell them how awesome they are.
