Don't Make Me Use The Bat
I am so very glad I am not in Sacto, and wouldn;t listen to Napear if I was. lsitenign to him and his prescreened callers would drive me batty.
Would you give up Evans for a LA/DMC frontcourt? JT/Hayes off the bench, Trob has time to develop. Of course, it created another, substantially larger problem...

Does anyone have any idea for solid vets that are available via trade that would be a stabilizing presence for the team?
My quick review of some of the teams at the bottom of the standings brings up some interesting players, but I'm completely speculating as to their availability. What would you guys think of acquiring: (1) Marcin Gortat - (maybe for a Marcus Thornton trade? Salaries appear to be close); (2) Chris Kaman; (3) Anderson Varejao; (4) Glen Davis; (5) Nene? These are solid guys that can come in and play a role, in my opinion.
I for one am not in favor of trading Cousins. He is just too much of a talent to give-up. But knowing Petrie guides the Maloofs/organization, stupid things can happen. We can debate not trading Cousins. I think that's fair because of the untapped talent that he has.

Let's say stupid thing thus happen or Cousins himself demanded to be traded. Would you be interested or will it be okay for you if we go for this trade:
Cousins and IT plus filler (Salmons or Hayes or whoever to match the salaries)
for
Drummond and Austin Daye plus Prince
We get another big man project with lots of defensive potential, a 6' 11" small forward, both of which MAY BE considered untapped talent. Plus a bonus proven veteran defensive SF in Tayshun Prince.
I think Detroit will be salivating with this offer for them to have a bad boy on their roster.
What do you guys think?
I think a Cousins-Monroe frontcourt would be very beastly.

The vultures are circling. Unfortunately what fans don't realize is that when they are circling its because they think you are roadkill and they are coming by to pick out the choice parts of your corpse.

P.s. the irony here is that there is no reason, absolutely no reason at all beyonjd our own stupidity, that Andrew Drummond shouldn't ALREADY be here, NEXT to Cousins. INstead we have a #5 pick we are now DNP-CDing.
True, and I appear to be wrong about Andre Drummond so far. But Lawrence Frank is a much better coach than Keith (not so) Smart, and Drummond seems like a guy that needs a good coach to play to his capabilities

Fab Melo is having his way in the D league, believe he's had some tripple doubles including one game with 15 blocks.
One deal I'm considering in my head -
Cousins, Salmons, and Outlaw to Boston for Jeff Green, Avery Bradley, Fab Melo, Jared Sullinger + picks.
That's the only way I'm allowing Boston to get Cousins from us if they want to keep Rondo. Give us all your young talent, take our bad salaries, and give us draft picks. I would then obviously work on something involving our guards, because my plan would be to start Evans and Bradley, which means ideally two of Jimmer, IT, Brooks, and MT will need to go. Why would I do this? Well, In a perfect world I wouldn't. I'm assuming we ARE dealing Cousins here, with a team that obviously wants him.
I want to get rid of Salmons and Outlaw. This is where we would need to take back Jeff Green. He's underperformed this season, but I think he's better than his numbers. I think he'd be better in Sacramento with a starting job and 30mpg. As a 20-25 minutes guy in Boston, on a team that needs bench SCORING ... he's not going to get that job done. That's not him. I think he can do some nice things though. He has good size for a 3. His shot is ok. He can play some defense. He's still young enough to get better.
I'm also a massive believer in Avery Bradley on the defensive side of the ball. I think he's the best perimeter defender in the league. And as I've said before, give me Bradley and Evans on defense against another teams guards any day. He can shoot the 3, he can play on or off the ball with Evans. I think that backcourt could work.
Melo is a project in the JaVale McGee / DeAndre Jordan role. I think he can be a player. Sullinger is kind of a known commodity. He'll be a solid big as long as he is healthy.
Long term you hope Evans is the guy Evans can be. You start him with Bradley for the next 8 years, You make Green the 'do a little bit of everything' SF. Robinson or Sullinger emerge as the starting 'scoring PF', Melo lives up to his potential ... and you have a Good starting unit, who could potentially destroy teams on the defensive end.
That is clearly the dream scenario in this deal. It could obviously blow up in our faces. Life of a Kings fan.

I'm sorry, that is just stupid. In the classic sense of the term. It is the absolute classic steal the star for a bunch of spare parts deal that keeps top franchises on top, and keeps bottom franchises on the bottom. Avery Bradley. Jared Sulinger. Yeah, cool. Maybe we can get Jeff Hornacek and Tim Perry out of it instead. Or Aaron Afflalo and Al Harrington.
Garbage.
There is a reason why the 2nd winningest team in NBA history wants to steal OUR kids, and would cheerfully do so at the expense of its own.
I suppose I should feel lukcy at this point that Geoff Petrie wants to ravage our future to save his legacy by tryign to trade Cousins for some solid vets that will let him retire with a nice little .500 team, rather than trading him for a bunch of late round draft picks so we can acquire a new stack of Omri Casspis to anchor our rebuild.
How about:Dwight Howard rookie per 36:
13.2pts (.520) 11.1reb 1.0ast 1.0stl 1.8blk
Andre Drummond rookie per 36:
12.9pts (.577) 13.1reb 0.8ast 1.6stl 2.7blk
How about:
Cousins and TRob
for
Drummond and Monroe
If I am not mistaken, nobody advocated to trade Cousins except for you and LWP777.It's so funny that people are now actually considering the possibility of trading Cousins, when a month or so ago, people thought I was batshiz insane.
The thing that needs to be remembered though, is while I was advocating getting rid of Cousins, I was adamant about not letting him go in a firesale. I'd much rather be stuck with him, than give him away at 75 percent of his true value. F that noise. We need to keep him for now, wait for a lot of this bullcrap to blow over, and then dump his arse when most of the GM's around the league have forgotten just how much of a malcontent he is.
WE CANNOT TRADE CUZ FOR PEANUTS!
How about:
Cousins and TRob
for
Drummond and Monroe
Straight-up swap. We'll get bigger and Detroit gets tougher.
Petrie gets his typical finesse SOFTIE center and maybe Petrie gets happy enough to do better with filling the rest of the roster with fitting pieces. Then let's just hope and pray Monroe becomes the equivalent of Duncan and Drummond becomes the equivalent of Dwight Howard in the future. Nice pieces for Petrie to messed-up in trades again......lol
Wait, I think we are slowly becoming the Clippers of the past!...lol

The only reason trading Cousins is being discussed now is - knowing Petrie is kind of STUPID lately, there really is a possibility that we will be losing Cousins.
Today KSR has spoken with a source close to Demarcus Cousins both that confirms trade talks are ongoing and Cousins is hoping a deal will be worked out soon. According to the source, the four teams that are most likely to end up making such a deal for cousins are Boston, Dallas, Orlando and Charlotte.
