We need to trade Cousins, but have to wait for his value to improve...

I'm told (again) there's "no chance" DeMarcus Cousins is being traded to the Boston Celtics
This better be the case. Why would we want a bunch of average bench players and two guys on the verge of retirement? Thats the type of trade you make when you are close to a championship team and need a few vets to push you over the edge. Not when you aren't even in the discussions as a playoff team.

There is no chance of this happening. Even the Kings aren't stupid enough to trade DMC for garbage like that.

Don't challenge the Maloofs... I don't know, I have a very bad feeling about it. I'm afraid we are going to do something really really stupid. And if a trade like that goes down, I'll be done with this franchise.

hahahaaaaahahahaa lmaoooo
The starting point for any Celtics deal for either Evans or DMC should be Rondo. If the conversation doesn't go there, hang up the phone. We know Ainge covets both of them but the Kings are clearly only dangling one. And despite the Celts improved play and constant call of "look at last year" this team is 6th best, tops, in that league (they'd get shelled by MIA, ATL, NYK, and CHI). If Boston is looking to rebuild, we can help. My deal: Evans, Garcia, Thomas (perhaps plus a future pick) for Rondo and Wilcox. BOS gets a big expiring and a young PG. Evans, should they resign them, gives them a nice backcourt with Avery Bradley, Lee, Terry, and Thomas. I don't think this deal is any more far-fetched than the stupid deal posted earlier on BleacherReport, clearly by a L*kers fan.

One team that the Celtics have been in contact with is the Sacramento Kings. Boston has expressed significant interest in DeMarcus Cousins and would like to put together a package for him. Ainge seems willing to part with some combination of his recent acquisitions and draft picks. He doesn’t want to move Rondo, Pierce, Garnett or Avery Bradley, according to sources close to the situation

From that Hoopsworld article above:

Cousins would make the Celtics better in the short-term and give them someone to pair with Rondo and Bradley long-term. If Cousins’ reaches his full potential, the Celtics could have their star point guard and star center of the future by making this trade. Cousins would become one of the franchise’s cornerstones once Garnett and Pierce are gone.
Yeah, because that is what we should be doing, trading away possible franchise cornerstones.

There is quite a logical disconnect in the thinking of the Celtics here. The Kings say that they will not trade DMC under any circumstance, and the Celtics think "gee, we can probably get him without trading away any of our players that actually have value." After the week Cousins has had, the line of thinking around the league is "he's certainly a headache, but he's worth it." Cousins is a supremely talented young big man, and traditionally, that is the single most valuable commodity in basketball. How many of those are there around the league? 4 or 5 tops? Maybe 1 or 2 that equal Cousins' talent? And the Celtics' master plan at acquiring him is to not trade away any of the players they are high on? There is probably something else they're high on...

Hold on here everyone.

http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/story...nded-one-game-bumping-ref-not-cooperating-nba

This is the fourth suspension in less than one year's time for Rondo, including his third for incidents involving game officials. Rondo was suspended two games for throwing a ball at a game official in Detroit in February, then served a one-game suspension for bumping an official in Atlanta during a Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Hawks. In late November, Rondo was suspended two games for an incident with Brooklyn's Kris Humphries that saw the two enter the stands during a physical confrontation.
So folks are eager to get rid of Boogie because of his "issues" and this is one of the players you want in return? Hypocritical much?

But the grass its so greeen.

I learned all I needed to know about rondo in the celtics bulls series years ago. The guy is unsportsmanlike punk who wouldn't be on the radar if not for being surrounded by hall of fame-ers for years who covered his inability to hit anything from a free throw out.
