We have another bench mob

One of the things that made the Kings of 6-8 years ago so special for me was the bench mob. Berry, Scott, Jackson and others.... that team got along so well it was awesome to watch. They all supported each other, they genuinely liked each other. i am starting to see that same thing develop with this group.
The entire game they keep showing all the players on the bench up and cheering on their team... and keep in mind what their record is. It isnt like they are playing in the 7th game of the finals.

I am very excited about this team, I just wish more people were in the stands to watch this thing develop.

I’m with you. I really love the fact that these young guys come and support each other. They support each other through thick and thin (when we're down by points or leading the game) and I love seeing that in our guys. I hope this type of attitude is more contagious and keeps on spreading.

Yeah. I can't wait until Cisco comes back and he and Bobby become the core of the New Bench Mob. Throw in Brown and Greene and you really have an energy bunch.

Quincy seems to be on the way out, Thomas is out and Mikki is a disaster starting or off the bench (his Jello Hands drive me nuts and did you see him blow a wide open alley oop last game!). Shelden is the question mark. A big body who can bang and score down low but not much range beyong 12-15 ft.

But with an over enthusiastic Thompson and a Green Greene we have to wait until after All-Star break to see what really develops along with who the Coach might be at that time.

I really really really hope the veteran players dont discourage the younger guys for being so enthusiastic.. many times I see Greene and Brown on there feet and the rest of the bench sitting down .. I could see them realizing the "vets" arent excited so why should they be .. occasionally you'll see mikki up there with them aswell which probly helps, But I do agree .. Cisco is like that and I deffinetly see him as being the leader of the new bench once Bjacks retires.

I was watching Sheldon the last game. Thompson, Greene, and Brown were up waving towels, and Sheldon just sat there with no expression. Whatever passion he had seems to be gone, along with his minutes. Too bad. For a while there I thought he might have a place on this team, but not to be.

What we have is a bunch of kids acting like kids, not a bench mob.

The bench mob wasn't about waving towels -- that was Mateen. the bench mob was a cohesive exciting unit with great ONcourt chemistry. We have nothing like that right now -- indeed do not even know who is going to be on the bench from game to game, let alone have any set rotations.

Which is not an indictment of the guys playing cheerleader -- better enthusiasm than no enthusiasm. But there is not much substance behind the style right now. Just kids excited to even be in the NBA. Different phenomenon.

P.S. As an aside, I don't think Sheldin has a future with us either, but its not because he won't wave a towel. Some people are just not demonstrative. And somehow I'm thinking we wouldn't be offering him a new contract jsut on his cheerleader abilities anyway.

P.P.S. I really liked that black pants and pink flower top outfit the real cheerleaders/dance team had on last night. :p

You’re right Brick, we don’t have a bench mob but we might have one if these guys are on the floor together. I see them having the chemistry on the bench, I wonder if it will translate to on the court once they all see floor time together.

Sheldon isn’t happy right now and he’s even said something about it.

“Williams wants more minutes – Shelden Williams admitted Friday to frustration with his role, or lack thereof.

Williams said he thought he would see more playing time with Moore sitting out the last three games with a right ankle sprain. He played two minutes against Portland and 15 against Memphis. He did not play against New Orleans.”
