Tyreke Evans was eating at Esquire grill yestarday!

It should be mentioned, even if its just a team award. Its nice to have a good year on and off the court recognized. Oscar Robertson himself attended to present the first one, as I recall.

very happy with Beno this year

now trade him ASAP while his value is still high

Just shows what a little patience will do. Everyone was ready to flush him down the toilet last year. He went from a player that looked untradable to a player I'm sure Petrie will get some calls on.

Not really sure you can call it patience when you have no choice in the matter. ;)

Beno was the most improved player from last season. I'm sure teams will call Petrie this off season to enquire about Beno. As such, I hope the Kings keep him.

I dont feel he will be traded, sure calls will be made but i just dont feel he will be traded. If he is ridded in the event we pick up a steller guard and decide to play cisco as back up guard then we have quite alot of cap space.

More likely though i feel is we draft a guard and keep him around waiting for the right deal. We dam well overpayed him, id love to keep him. He fits well but we overpaid

I think the thing with Beno is just that he is NOT overpaid for the role he played this year and could draw interest. BUT if we add another guard, or just decide to go to a full sized backcourt, or even if Reke's increasing game just kind of makes Beno's offense unnecessary in the starting lineup and defense problematic, then he goes to the bench, the numbers go back down, and he becomes untradeable again as an 8pt bencher with a 5-6mil contract.

Which doesn't mean that I think we should trade him after sucha strong season, but it does mean if we ARE going to trade him there might not be another time when its realistic unless he continues as Reke's starting backourt mate getting the same number of opportunities he does now. I could see him staying as starter next season, so that part is possible. But as Reke becomes a 22pt guy or a 24pt guy or a 26 pt guy -- the full blown superstar -- Beno's numbers and hence value, are likely to sink even if he's still in the same role.

this is true, it all comes down to how we draft and if GP sees this in the same sense. With Martin he didnt wait, pulled the trigger and we flourished. If we bring in another guard in the draft it is perhaps in our best interests long term to simply entrust what will be our young back court from day one and move beno on.

Thats if we go with a guard, and i guess that depends on if you see any of the top tier ones as really good fits with reke. Alternatively GP could really see this backcourt rotation as are base and build around it by drafting a big man.

I agree. We have to get rid of Beno while he is deceivingly good and valuable.

Beno had been good offensively this season, but still terrible on the defensive side. I also think Beno is still the same point guard who dribbles the ball on his foot even when he is by himself. It happened several times the past three seasons and it happened again three times this season. I don't want such a terrible point guard who makes unforced stupid errors once the Kings get in the playoffs.

Make sure that when you trade someone, you got a plan to get someone better to fill his shoe or at least just as good but cheaper.

Personally I thought he was pretty consistent and not someone that is on and off like Noc. He doesn't have to be the general on the floor anymore because that's Tyreke. Different role for him from this season moving forward vs the last season. And while we can possibly get an upgrade, this one has been working well with our Tyreke 1.0.

The last thing we want to do is upgrade and it turn out to be VISTA. ;)
