OK, you guys are just trying to out hipster one another at this point, hahaha.
For my next obscure pick, I will take my favorite Japanese-American female rap/trip-hop duo:
Cibo Matto

this one I know purely because they performed on one episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I am gonna jump on this hot "obscure" band trend for my next two picks. First, the band with the lead singer who must be an angel. Her voice is one of the most beautiful I have ever heard. Reminds me of Karen Carpenter, but an octave up. They hail from the amish-heavy town of Lancaster Pennsylvania:
the innocence mission

Belle and Sebastian
Are you Scottish Henkel?
BAM!My next pick is again another overlooked band. I am both surprised and glad that they are still available at this point in the draft. I have never seen a collection of players in a single band where each one is technically up there with the best in playing their instrument.

I don't care for the classification "nu-metal", but alas they are my favorite of this faux genre:
KoЯn
They're one of those bands that I didn't even realize that I liked so many of their songs. Blind is right up there with Hell's Bells for best intro to a song ever (and that's not debatable).
Nice pick! They were going to be my nice pick of the draft. FYI they do a pretty decent cover of Master of Puppets too.
edit: haha I see Spike already covered that![]()

BAM!
[PROG NERD ALERT]
I was wondering when they would go. Great catalogue, great music. You should know that you also inherit covers of Master of Puppets, Dark Side of the Moon, and Number of the Beast in their entirety.
A little self-promotion, here's a video I took of them in a concert I saw a few months ago when I went to visit the fam in SF:
Hands down the best progressive band out there. Those of you who haven't heard much of them are really missing out. Their latest album is actually one of the best they've done in a long time. They were a band I was referencing a few rounds ago.

Wow, never thought they would get picked. Love Viva La Woman, though. It's a whole album of Japanese girls singing about food in broken English. I like to think that due to peculiarity in some textbook their knowledge of English vocabulary was limited to food items, but I'm sure that's not the case. Cred for the pick, though!
If you liked Viva La Woman, you should check out their second effort "Stereotype A"; it a cleaner, better produced album and the songwriting is better.
