I'll take some more 80's music for my island, and take The Traveling Wilbury's.

Well I have a very limited number of female artists that I'd consider picking, so I may as well grab another one now. N may as well make it another fellow Canadian, and a hot one at that:
Nelly Furtado
Bit of a different sound for me. Her later stuff didn't really suit her voice that well, but Maneater is one of those guilty pleasure songs that I always found really catchy. Promiscuous as well. But her earlier stuff is better. All Good Things is a great song and everyone should give it a listen even if you're not a fan of hers.

yeah, looked at them earlier in this draft. Don't take this the wrong way but I set them aside (they were still on an alternate's list) when I decided they had fewer memorable songs than I remembered them having. Think Roy's death really hurt them.

Did this mystery artist put out an album at the beginning of the month? If were on the same page, no worries I plan on taking her before this thing wraps up.
Had no idea they were even out there until I did a google image search for my pick, always keep safe search off kids you never know what you might find.

Alright, first time I heard this guy was when iTunes gave out one of his singles as the "Free download of the week," a few years back. Loved the download, listen to the rest of his stuff and fell in love with it.

Another band from my early days, INXS hit it big with Kick and I went back through their stuff to find out they’d been really good all along. Of course, the death of Michael Hutchence in 1997 forced them to descend into some sort of reality show parody of themselves but they had a real nice run before that. And it should come as no surprise that INXS is the third-best selling Aussie band in the U.S., behind the already-taken AC/DC and the Bee-Gees.

Okay, I thought I knew who I was going to take here, but it turned into a massive 5 band scrum to fill this niche, all of them with their own warts, and I finally decided to just take the band I thought was the most fun:
Bachman Turner Overdrive
20 rounds later, still looking to shore up my classic rock section after stepping aside for that early rush. And of all the remaining groups I considered, I think these guys were the ones for whom I have the most affection. They weren't pretty. They weren't experimental. They weren't progressive. But they played it straight, and catchy, and hooky as hell.

So I'm still mildly distraught over losing the Dave Matthew's Band to kingsnation in round 5. Like Brick said, it's not wise to chase missed out picks, but I couldn't resist. I was first introduced to this duo in 1999 with Live at Luther College and was blown away! With my 21st selection, I choose:

Dave is his usual awesome self, supplying the rhythm guitar and ranging vocals, while Tim Reynolds supplements the rest of the band with ethereal guitar leads as well as the most original tones ever to come from a guitar!

So why am I picking them? Well, they did this collaboration thing last year with a bunch of rappers/hip hop artists. They called it BlakRoc. I loved that album. But even though it's just them collaborating with random people, I'm not sure I get it on my island by picking the Black Keys. AllMusic has a separate page for BlakRoc. So why not just pick BlakRoc (aside from the fact that they only have that one album)? Well, because I want some very different music on my island, and I just haven't been exposed to this style much to have favorites or preferences. So here's a band I am familiar with through this other album they did, I really enjoy that music, and when I go to listen to their other stuff to see what they're all about I really like that, too. Boom, good enough for me.
And if anybody wants to argue that I should get the BlakRoc album, too, I'm totally cool with that.

If I'd have had to do a ranking of people in this draft likely to pick The Black Keys, you'd have probably gone fifteenth. Fascinating. But yeah, very cool pick. I love Attack&Release and if I knew any more of their music and didn't already have BRMC, I'd have probably drafted them myself.

No, Wings is Wings. At least that's what I am saying. I actually had never seen the "Paul McCartney &" formulation before, but think this is clearly a case of "Paul McCartney & Wings" being an alternate name for the Wings project rather than Wings just being Paul's backup band. At least that's what I'm saying and I think its what the OP intended by taking Wings instead of Pau McCartney overall.

I would LOL at this if I had not just a couple of days ago in the course of some musical investigations for this draft stumbled across an artist I had never heard before who I liked so much (better in fact than any of the people I was investigating) that now I am pondering taking them with one of my last picks.
Because I need another band with a drummer who plays a cocktail kit I'm gonna pick the Violent Femmes.
The Violent Femmes, they bring all their equipment on the bus. And you can't F* with the Violent Femmes, you can not F* with this band!
I think people tend to think of the Femmes as a one album band because their debut was so great. Full of quirky but catchy folksy acoustic yet punky tunes, it is easily one of my favorite albums from the 80s. Their other work wasn't as massively popular but some of it was a lot more interesting.
Faves:
The entire first album but especially Kiss Off, Prove My Love, Gone Daddy Gone, Add It Up and of course Blister in the Sun
Now that the obvious is out of the way... one of my favorites is their spin on the traditional murder ballad:
Other faves:
Out the Window, Black Girls, 36-24-36, America Is, American Music.
And they were on the Saturday Morning Cartoon album, one of my favorite little diversions doing Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah and I can get Do You Really Want to Hurt Me without having to pick the Culture Club.
