Trade talk with Indiana--Tinsley to Sacto, Greene to Indiana?

Again, just about ALL possible trade scenarios are theorized or rumored at one time or another. So for just about every eventual trade there is a place somewhere that can say, "Hey, we predicted this!!!"

It's merely the infinite number of monkeys with an infinite number of typewriters theory put into basketball.

Does that mean that all rumors are merely guessing? Of course not. But it does mean that people should really look at the source and take it all with a grain of salt. People who actually know someone who knows something generally cannot say much publicly without losing their source of information. When they do say something, it's usually only shortly before the actual action is made public.

Bottom line, this trade simply doesn't make much sense from the Kings' point of view and there's NO real reason for Petrie to pull the trigger. And that's the "fatal flaw"...

The list of teams desperate for cappy. In order of neediness.

1. NY KNICKS
2. CLEVELAND CAVS
3. LAL
4. DETROIT
5. BOSTON
6. DENVER
7. DALLAS
8. INDIANA
9. PHX

Those teams are going to be dealing with the devil come feb.

I reject this cap restructuring and off season health killing proposal, in hopes of a new (or no) deal.

Pros:
1. Getting rid of KT.
2. Getting a back-up PG for the next few years.
3. Getting a Lottery Pick

Cons:
1. Getting rid of Greene
2. Getting a Longer contract.
3. Getting another injury-prone player.

And this IS an Indiana fan forum bit of info. The KT for Tinsley/McRoberts makes a bit of sense financially: Tinsley $6.75M + McRoberst $0.7M = $7.45M for KT at $7.9M. But not practically if Brown + BJax become the 2 & 3 PG's

But Tinsley's contract runs 3 years where as KT is only 2.

Nah, on third thought, doesn't make sense. Won't happen.

Pros:
1. Getting rid of KT.
This could happen if he is at far end of bench
2. Getting a back-up PG for the next few years.
This should happen with Brown and BJax
3. Getting a Lottery Pick
For KT?? Find that hard to believe unless Kings cough up Greene

Cons:
1. Getting rid of Greene

Maybe not if his upside starts to be realized.
2. Getting a Longer contract.
??
3. Getting another injury-prone player.[/QUOTE]

All-in-All this deal doesn't seem to be enough in Kings favor financially or personnel wise.

I come back from a week away to this??

Let me just say that KT for Tinsley, McRoberts and a 1st isn't necessarily the most horrible idea in the world. Yes, you're just extending the salary pain one more season, but don't underestimate the power of a lotto pick, paricularly with the Indiana slow motion train wreck showing no signs of stopping. There still will be cap room with the right moves.

But I'm not really a fan of including a Greene for Shawne Williams swap in the mix. Greene shows promise. Williams shows promise of being a first rate knucklehead.

So count me in for tepid support of a KT for Tinsley + 1st deal, but I would really hate to see any of our other young assets included.

Dude, Isiah Thomas is not running the show here, Petrie is not going to give up Donte Greene for some pieces we don't need. KT + Douby for Pacers' trash, I can believe; but not when Greene is involved. No way.

No. I dont want Tinsley in a Kings uniform. Not a good trade for us and he brings a lot of off the court issues.

Heard on ESPN this morning that any deal involving Tinsley to Denver has died due to 2 things: His health and his contract.

Well, if everything is true, hopefully we will be just as wise as the Nuggets and say no thanks Indy -he's your problem.

The Pacers just have to slap some SERIOUS incentive with Tinsley.

Thomas for Tinsley + top 3 protected 1st round pick. I do that in a heartbeat.

Probably so but they won't move him otherwise.

Then, thankfully, he remains their problem, and not ours. Why in god's name would we trade a first round pick and our problem child, KT, for their problem child, Tinsley, plus one more year on his contract than KT's.

He said we'd be getting the pick though, not giving it up.

Things in Kenny Thomas' favor over TInsley:

1) His contract is a year shorter
2) He's not a complete LOSER of a human being - you may not like KT, but he doesn't go out to nudie joints firing weapons and being a CHARACTER issue.
3) He's a big man - teams always have need for these and KT could reasonable be dealt this year or next.

Both are toxic assets that by all rights should qualify to be bought up under the recently passed bailout plan.
