Trade Beno?

Anyone else think its the perfect time to dump Beno's contract while hes getting decent PT and being productive?

A team like Philly might be willing to bite with the way hes been playing as of late....

I think it's the obvious movement: clearing up sallary space and get more game time for Sergio (although he's not being as solid as Udrih, he's only 23 and I think he won't mind a cheap contract at the end of season while he gets decent playing time)

I obviusly say it as a Sergio fan, but after his good performance I think it's an objective good movement, specially if we can get a good center for Beno: when Martin is back he'll give the team the scoring that Beno is doing, so Beno won't be very necessary. And although Sergio is being more irregular than Beno, he can give the team things that Martin can't.

^ agreed.... we also are getting Cisco back

I think the odd guys out are Beno and Noc due to their contracts + age and the fact that will won't lose much IF ANYTHING by having them gone.

Beno is playing some great basketball at the moment and the only reason I would trade him is because of his contract. If that contract was a bit lighter I would love to keep this version of Beno.

Sergio is OK but seriously Beno is much better because he is a more rounded player. Sergio is a much better passer but Beno is infinitely better shooter. In fact Beno is a better passer than Sergio is shooter.

I wouln't trade Beno neither if he had a normal sallary, but his contract is too high so I think he's very tradable. And although Beno is better overall than Sergio, the difference between them is not as high as the difference between their sallaries. That's the point: Sergio can play as 2nd PG and it's a lot cheaper, maybe he won't be as effective as Beno right now, but he's only 23 and still can improve a lot, specially if he gets minutes and confidence.

Im mixed on trading beno... his outside shooting is obviously better than S. Rod and its also been clutch for us many times this year... in fact i think Beno has played a big role in the surprising level at which everyone is playing... hes been a great 6th man... and it appears thats just what his role should have always been.... I dont think his salary is that high.... but its not really cheap and he did get alot of years...

heres the important question to me ... does someone want beno so bad to also take NOC with him?

like any trade it would have to be worth it for us... i wouldn't just give him away for exp contracts...

Uh... maybe Miami, the Clippers, or New York. Not the best of trading partners. I think Boston or Orlando could be sold on those two as well.

NY wouldn't do it... but is someone is, then i'd be willing to give it a go with S.Rod.... I'd just make him shoot 1000 3pts everyday in practice...

I don't think Beno is very tradable. he's helping his cause by his play, but his contract is pretty bad for the position he plays. You will have to trade him to a team that is convinced he can be their starting PG because trading for a $5m backup pg isn't a wise move. Especially with how things are flowing in this league concerning $$, I don't see very many teams jumping out of their seats to grab a long term MLE money backup point guard that doesn't play a D.

Sergio on the other hand, is very tradable...

Okay, this trade sounds ridiculous, but it works salary - wise.

Orlando in:
Udrih and Nocioni

Kings in:
Gortat, Pietrus, and Bass.

Orlando sheds 2 million in payroll, gets a respectable backup for Nelson when he returns, and Noc can be a solid backup for Carter.

Kings get the Polish Hammer as a backup C (hell, maybe even starting C), a
good young PF in Bass coming off the bench, and Pietrus is a younger Udoka.

It'll never happen.

Make it happen haha... Really though the best suiters for Noci and Beno would be championship/playoff level teams that need a good bench and don't mind having these guys around for a few years...
