Thornton for Trevor Ariza

Assuming the kings get Tyreke back, the kings would be overcrowded in the back court. Washington is overcrowded in the small forward with #3 pick Otto porter and just resigned martell Webster.

how about a swap of Marcus Thornton for Trevor Ariza.

why kings do it? Ariza gives the kings a number one wing defender who can knock down an open shot. He's still only 28 years old and a very good defender and can handle and pass the ball. Plus the wizards owner is friends with Vivek I believe.

why the wizards do it? They are overstocked on small forwards and Thornton would make a very good 3 guard rotation with John wall and beal.

Its a win-win for both teams and the kings can keep salary cap flexibility for next year to re sign DMC. The kings would have a full sized team:

PF Thompson 6'11"
SF Ariza 6'8"
C. Cousins 6'11"
SG mclemore 6'5"
PG Evans 6'6"

Go Kings!

problem with Ariza is that he can't knock down an open shot. Defense will just swarm the paint with that lineup and we pray a rookie bails us out.

Ariza shot very well after Wall returned - something over 40% I believe, fwiw

I don't think the Wizards go for this. IMO, they're way more stocked with guards than SF. Wall, Beal, Barbosa and Price are a nice little group and then of course you have the former King Garrett Temple and Webster can play the 2 a bit as well. So, MT would certainly give them overstock (sort of like our current situation.)

Besides all that though, I've always been a huge Ariza fan.

thorton please

Ariza hasn't done anything since he was on the Lakers about 4 years ago. He's done at this point.

If we can't get anyone we really need, I say keep Thornton. I feel like he's going to be the Thornton of old once we have something to play for. Seems like the guy has motivation issues.

i'm not a fan of thornton. ariza doesn't peak my interest. his last showing was in the finals against boston. he lit them up from beyond the arc. i thought it was a mistake to let him go but apparently it didn't makea diff as artest helped them with the next championship
