This May Sound Strange

I was looking at our player stats on Kings.com

Bonzi 20.0
SAR 16.5
Kevin Martin 16.5
Ron 16.0
Mike 16.0

These are the top 5 leaders in ppg for the playoffs.

Mike Bibby (PG)
Kevin Martin (SG)
Ron Artest (SF)
Bonzi Wells (SF)
SAR (PF)

MAKE THIS THE STARTING 5!

I know, the kings dont have a center, but SAR matches up well with Duncan at the PF position. Nazr Mohammed is not a threat to the kings on the offensive end. That's why i dont think it'll be that hard for Bonzi to guard him.

What Kings Gain: A very quick lineup. We can do something we havent done all series, Spread the floor. It'll also help with our defensive rotations.

What Kings Lose: Rebounding. True that having a 7ft center helps, but Brad Miller CANNOT REBOUND. He is invisible on the court. He's averaging 3 rebounds a game. Kevin Martin is averaging more than he is. He's performing horribly. Technically, with him out of the starting lineup we wont even lose the rebounding advantage; we'll probably be better.

That is an AWFUL lineup... Who's going to guard Nazr? Bonzi? They would KILL the Kings on the boards... Now I wouldn't mind a starting lineup of

C-Reef
PF-Kenny
SF-Artest
SG-Bonzi
PG-Bibby

Quickly subbing Martin for Bonzi and Bibby to give them rest. In case you didn't notice, KWAME BROWN... KWAME BROWN!!! Is KILLING the Suns because they have Tim Thomas at C... Imagine what Nazr would do?

I'd go with SacTown's suggestion of:

C-Reef
PF-Thomas
SF-Artest
SG-Bonzi
PG-Bibby

Then, in any sub pattern, leave either Reef, Bonzi or Artest in the game for scoring and post threat.

I might even say start Martin, because that gives us more outside/slashing game. But, I just don't think Miller is built for the playoffs.

Unfortunately its not, and has never been, that simple. In fact putting your 5 best scorers on the floor at once is absolutley what you do NOT want to do, because same story as early in the season, all they do is strangle each other offensively. Nobody gets the shots they need. Nobody gets into rhythm. Let alone when we go mega-midget as well against a tema wiht a big size advantage in the first place.

Heh, Kwame. Playin hard, getting props from Big Bro Kobe, and daddy Phil.

I don't know. Playing small ball? Does that EVER work in the playoffs for more than a 5 minute streatch?

I also think that Rahim would be more effective than Miller at center. Some teams seem to focus the attacks on Brad Miller. That is partly why he looks so bad. They take turns running at him for layups. Brad has played so poorly lately that I would reduce his time in the game. I would have Rahim in the game after six minutes, then see how well it works.

Bring Brad off the bench

its not like Brad is using his 7'0 body to grab rebounds/play defense/ or play offense anyways. So it would be better by far over what we had before.
