I think a special shout-out to all the troops in harm's way is especially appropriate today. No politics discussion, but all the soldiers doing the nasty work across the world have my thanks and utmost respect.
And while this may make him a martyr to some lunatics out there, I am VERY glad they got him. He was NOT a person you want floating around out there causing trouble.....

Likely small team of CIA operatives - seems confirmed with PAK intelligence assistance. Bin Laden was apparently holed up in a mansion (not cave) in Pakistan and killed in a firefight. USA took custody of his body and proved his ID.

It's probably just all illuminati based man. The US covers up so much. Plus, with an election coming up there needed to be that big splash and get people believing that Obama can do something.
What does this even change though, if it indeed is true? Doesn't change a damn thing. Terrorism is still just as strong. And Osama was probably just a face for Al Qaeda. I mean really, do we honestly believe that one man is that powerful? This is a group, a really powerful group. There are millions of others just like Osama.

Exactly. I suppose we could now put Bin Laden's head on a platter and place it down at NYC Ground Zero and also haul it over to DC at the Pentagon for any skeptics to stare at. Elvis is alive!

There was a $25 million bounty on his head. Maybe somebody in Pakistan dropped a dime on him to collect the huge ransom. Bid Laden was symbol of the jihad and no can replace him at that international level - at least for awhile. Sure terrorism goes on, it always has a various levels - but this is a victory against a mass murderer.

My feeling wasn't celebration, but I'm not someone who lost a friend or loved one on 9/11, and not in Iraq or Afganistan, either.
I feel relief that he is gone. Killing him was an act to protect people from his unrelenting violence and hatred. He believed in violence and died in violence.
Unfortunatley, that doesn't mean terrorism will stop, whether foreign or homegrown.
I do want to express my gratitude to the men and women working in counter-terrorism and intelligence and also to those serving in the military. A lot has been sacrificed to achieve this goal. Job well-done to all of you.

So not that 66% of teens did not knowwho he was, but rather that out of all the ignorant people oout on the net asking who he was, 66% were teens. Which is gee, a shocker.

Apparently even Pakistan had forgotten who he was. If you use Google Earth and look up Abbottabad the red dot that indicates the city is almost right on top of where OBL was living, 35 miles or so from the capital city of Pakistan. And the joke was that he was hiding in a cave. The neighbors were really looking the other way. Anyway, it was gutsy to send American troops into a foreign country and not only wasn't it in a desolate area, it was smack dab in the middle of an urban area.

From what I read that man is reportedly soft spoken and not the 6'5 presence with a massive amount of funds that Bin Laden was, but of course this didn't end anything.

History argues differently. Removing a strong leader matters...a lot. Doesn't eliminate the "cause" completely but foolish sheep need a strong leader or else they lose momentum.

This is just part of a long-term plan to dismantle al-Qaeda one vicious mass murderer at a time. Seems for years we (meaning civilized world) could periodically knock-off or capture "#3" - well, now we got #1 guy. Hopefully, the gold mine of documents seized in successful raid on the Bin Laden compound in Pakistan will now lead to "#2," Ayman al-Zawahiri and other high value terrorists.
