I hope the Filipinos on this web site have pride in American Idol's Jessica Sanchez. I don't know who is going to win tonight but Jessica and Phillip were spectacular. She had me in tears and at age 16, she has an upside that any of you who sing can see. She already has the voice and the feeling. Next comes stage usage and just living a little more of life. Spectacular.

Thanks for sharing that. Funny response to a not-so-funny incident.
That was done in Portland. Of course. lol. Until I saw this I thought it was impossible for anyone to keep a secret in this town let alone 60 people. I think its really cute but I can't get around the fact that I am pretty certain the song is not about long term commitment.
And I have no trouble overlooking that since the effort required by the young man, his friends and family showed me an incredible commitment.

Are you talking about the wedding proposal? People I know have met the parents. It's real. Also from what I know it wasn't meant to go viral, but it was tweeted to Bruno Mars who retweeted it causing it to explode.

A week or so ago, a friend of mine who owns a gift shop and sells balloons took her helium tank down to get it refilled. (She sells LOTS of helium-filled balloons in the summer.) She was told that there is a national helium shortage and that only medical use tanks are being refilled. A HELIUM SHORTAGE??????? What are kids gonna do for fun? How can you talk funny if you don't have a helium-balloon to breathe from? Where's the media outrage on this crisis?

It looks as if there has been some downtime in the processing plants. Sounds like there's some optimism that there will be processing coming back online relatively soon. I don't think there's really any danger of "running out" of helium any time soon, but processing is a bit tricky. It's not economical to pull helium out of the atmosphere but it is produced via radioactive decay of uranium, etc., in the crust and accumulates in natural gas deposits, so they gather it out of natural gas. Until there's a big change in the amount of radioactive decay in the crust, I think we'll be able to get at the helium.
I say we just use hydrogen.
