I DESPISE those Nikebasketball comercials with the ants, and the mongoose/cobra. I want them taken off the air forever, as they are horrible commercials. They drive me crazy.

Damn. I hated Alg2, I remember I had to repeat it even though I had a C- in the class. The teacher who made me repeat the class was fired the following year.

Dear Proph, surely you know the difference between kingsgurl87 (who took a driving test) and Kingsgurl (who has probably been driving for hundreds of years). ;) :p

I just completed a job app for a federal job in Sacramento. I have 3 more to do. They can be very lengthy.

I'm sorry to hear that your parents aren't doing to well. I hope everything works out. What's tachycardia?

I don't know what a tachycardia is either, but I will keep her in my thoughts. I am 33 and I just had to go through my first parent/hospital scare. It is scary as hell. My folks have always been invincible to me. My dad is the greatest man I have ever known (besides my husband who it great for different reasons) and my mom is just so cool. It is hard to think of them as vunerable. They have always been the strong ones. Mom is 62 and dad is 65. Dad is in great shape. My mom is going to go through with the bypass surgery to help her lose weight. I am scared about that at her age, but she is tough. Now we just have to see if the insurance will cover it. Arrgh, it is so frustrating. Let us know how she is doing.

it is:

What is tachycardia?

The sudden, rapid racing of the heart is a condition called paroxysmal (PER-ok-siz-mahl) tachycardia (tack-eh-KAR-dee-ah).

What are the symptoms of tachycardia?

Depending on how fast the heart is beating, symptoms may include:

breathlessness
upset stomach
chest pain
weakness
fainting spells.
The attack may be over in minutes or may last for several days, with a heart rate that may range between 140 and 250 beats per minute. In most cases, tachycardia is not life threatening, but it can cause you to feel anxious or frightened.

What causes tachycardia?

Tachycardia may be triggered by conditions such as heart disease, an overactive thyroid gland, fever, or by drinking alcohol or caffeinated beverages.

What can I do to control tachycardia?

Self-help measures that may help slow down the heart rate include:

splashing your face with cold water
taking a slow drink of water
holding your breath for a moment

I know what you mean. My mom is 61 and dad is 66. dad has had so far, 1 stroke, 2 heart attacks and 1 episode of “Hyponatremia" Hyponatremia is an important and common electrolyte abnormality that can be seen in isolation or, as most often is the case, as a complication of other medical illnesses. He also suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes.

You always think they'll be there forever, but close calls like these sure wake you up.

I'll keep your mom in my prayers.
