Why do the Kings seem to be the only organization guarding against the CBA? No other teams seems to give a ****.
Actually, yes. As reported by Rick Kamla, the Wolves are very, very high on Darko.
And the sad thing is, the Darko signing may turn out to be one of the best bargains in this crazy summer.
.
What I don't get is how owners will be able negotiate lower salaries in the new CBA next year "because of the economy," when they are giving out contracts in these amounts right now. The owners may be shooting themselves in the foot for next year's negotiations.

These contracts are insane. Why are the hell are teams so freaking stupid?
Just leaves more for the Kings down the line.

Just a note: Paul Pierce and RJ opted out while Peja picked up his option
Yeah, five million per isn't all that bad for a seven footer who has a few skills.
2 words: Mikki Moore
Pedja is supposed to make over 15 mil this season. How retarded you you have to be to opt out ? Almost as retarded as the ones who gave him that money to begin with.
Idk, ask Richardson Jefferson(opted out of 15.5 mil)
Well of course the fans get screwed the most. We're only the customers, after all. They're shooting us -- the fans -- in the foot, because there's gonna be a work stoppage. I was hopeful before, but today has removed all hope from the equation. You can't pay Rudy Gay $82 million and then complain about player salaries. Sorry.

Wait and see what a one dimensional player like Morrow ends up getting and then just be happy Petrie is more or less standing pat in free agency this summer.
Maybe we're not so much out of the free agency game as we are first in line for Evan Turner.![]()
Sweet Mother - probably my least favorite player in the league:
Frye Sitting On $25M Offer From Suns While Waiting For Bulls, Knicks

I really can't believe what I'm reading here:

Channing Frye turned down Phx 5 yr 25 mill offer. Wants full mid-level
How much is the MLE these days? Are ww talking about a total difference of $2.5 million, or $5 million, or $7.5 million?
Edit: The MLE is $5.854 million, so over five years, that's a difference of $4.27 million. I don't blame Frye for trying to get his extra $4 million, although it's kind of funny considering the fact that he completely disappeared in the playoffs.
It was 5/34M last year. That's what Artest got with the Lakers. Might be slightly less this year
On the other side of things, we ended up hating the size of Webber's and Bibby's deals, but boy were Kings fans relieved we didn't lose them in free agency at the time. We were especially sweating out the resigning of Webber. When its time to resign Evans, we'll be sweating out again, if he turns into the player we're hoping he'll be. Just like Cleveland fans right now.
Edit: Remember the only teams that can use the MLE or LLE(?) are teams that are over the salary cap.

Yes, I know it was different. I was just commiserating a little with the fans of teams that may lose their stars. Sucks.Of course, Webber's deal was a) 7 years under the old CBA, and b) came after 8 years of service. In contrast, Reke's next deal will come under a new CBA, but even if it were this one, it would be a max 6 years, and after five years of service. So he wouldn't be 35 at the end of his max deal -- assuming that's what he gets; he'd be 30. And it wouldn't be for as much total money or as much per year, just due to the new CBA and the years of service. If Reke becomes what we expect he will, a max deal for our 25 year old All Star will be a no-brainer, and I don't think anyone will have any qualms about it.

If you think this is entertaining, just wait until we get to revisit these deals after the new CBA is in place!![]()
