the regional support as opposed to just the city of Sacramento. The whole region has stepped up to the plate and realized how important it is to keep the Kings in Sacramento, and hopefully working together with the city we can finally break ground on a new arena if the Kings stay.

True, as long as it works. There's been attempts to merge, unite, consolidate our local area region before and all attempts failed miserably. There was a public vote back in 90s to consolidate city into county - vice versa if you like. It was shot down by the voters. There's been talk for years of a regional power authority to bring together forces of several adjacent counties to include Sac, Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, San Joaquin, Sutter, Yuba, etc. It apparently stepped on too many toes in turf war battling to get anywhere. Like I said, if it works great, but the track record here is dismal to say the least.

Although I feel more hoepful than ever, I won't believe in regional support mening anything financially until I see it. For now, I'll take a little optimism on that score.
