How about Bonzi for Troy Murphy sign and trade. I think Murphy would be a perfect rebounder for this team.
The best S&T i can come up with that is realistic

Troy Murphy > Brad Miller at this point.
Their both soft but Troy could at least grab rebounds a play a little defense. He also is a better 3 pt shooter.

Murphy? You just can't do that with Brad and Reef. Its impossibly bad defensively. At least he boards, but at his price, he'd have to add something more than that. I know we're pretty much desperate, but just don't think he can fit unless you have a defensive stalwart alongside him. That ain't Brad.

Yeah, I agree. Murphy does a few things well (shooting, rebounding), but he's basically a younger, smaller Brad. At that price tag he's really not worth it and wouldn't fit well with the current team.

Jamal Crawford anyone? Petrie has gone after him in the past. Would have made a lot more sense if we hadn't signed Salmons, but if we wanted to move Garcia as part of a bigger package with SAR or KT, it could work. Would have to dump Corliss/Hart/Pot to stay under the tax.
Sign and trade for Bonzi straight up (he makes $7.2 million this year) works under the cap.

Jamal Crawford has some tantalizing talent, but even at age 26, six seasons in, he doesn't show any signs of dumping his bad habits (poor shot selection, bad defense) in favor of harnessing his strengths. Petrie seems to be newly infatuated with multi-skilled guards, and maybe Jamal Crawford would add to that versatility, but unless a coach can convince him to change his ways it's hard to imagine that he will ever justify his price tag.
The crux of the matter, IMHO, lies with the title of this thread: "The best S&T i can come up with that is realistic."
There are very few realistic sign-and-trade deals that are going to get done that actually make us better. For the most part, we would be taking back more salary, less production, and still not address our primary weaknesses.
If there was a realistic deal out there, it would have been done by now. For a variety of reasons - not the least of which is the growingly-obvious ineptitutde of Bonzi's agent - I think every day passing lessens the chances (already ultra-slim) of doing a sign-and-trade at all. In addition, Bonzi's fair market value is dropping faster than last year's calendars.
They took a chance. And they obviously didn't read the situations - both with the Kings OR with the remaining NBA teams who might vie for his services - correctly. And because the Kings didn't up the ante to keep Bonzi, other teams have to wondering why not. My best guess is they're just not sold on the high price tag considering the limited performance Bonzi and Phillips are trying to base it upon.
I think they thought Petrie was bluffing. I suspect they know better now.

I'd consider making a move for murphy- if we could swap KT. Murphy averages a double double, and even though he may be overpriced, I'd take his overpriced contract over KT's. He has better range, better numbers 14/10 vs 9/7.5), and to my understanding, a better attitude. Plus, he's not 6'7".
I'd do KT + Hart for Murphy. Maybe even exchange Garcia for Hart, considering we have salmons/martin/artest (and whereever Douby fits in) at the 2-3.
