Bmac has surprised me this year. He looks alot more comfortable then last year and he's playing pretty good within the system. I think we need to run more lob plays for him and get him cutting hard to the basket more.
Stauskas just needs time, he's going to be a great player for us, we just need to be patient with him.

But i do think the team could use a Vet SG right now, I think it would only help the kids development.
Dosent have to be a star SG either, someone that can defend, defer, and knock down the 3 would be perfect.

Sefolosha, Corey Brewer are just a cuple potential names off the top of my head.

this is utterly hilarious :)

(and i mean that in an absolutely pathetic way, of course)
How so? If you want to be serious about the playoffs this year, that's a trade you'd have to do. Stauskas provides 0 to our team right now. Absolutely 0. At this point in both Ben's and Stauskas' career, Stauskas has been worse. Stauskas literally hurts the team each time he steps onto the floor. That's not even an over exaggeration. SGs will purposely attack him knowing he's weak(physically). I've seen Malone tell our bigs to help Nik when he gets blown by, but most of the time it results to an easy assists for that SG. I don't see Nik contributing for our team this year. At least not positively.

Nik is tall 6'6, is quick enough to go by people with the ball on offense, he just needs time. He is big enough to be able to get a hand in the face, and quick enough to keep people in front of him. He just needs to put it all together and learn how to read people better.

Now he needs a whole lot of strength though, that will come in 2-3 seasons of being in the weight room.

Relax, this is not Jimmer who had no chance in hell to be on par athletically. Nik is a decent athlete, tall, high IQ potential too.
The more I see of Nik, the less comparisons to Klay I see. Klay as a rookie, was lanky just like Nik, but he has a much wider wingpsan, and was quick. Klay has always been sort of passive, but even as a rookie, he took any shots he saw that were open. I think Nik's work ethic will certainly get him far, but how far? I'm not sure. The Kings need contributors now. As you said yourself, he needs 2-3 seasons until he can finally be at the size he should be in.

I knew Nik would get limited minutes, but I didn't know he would struggle THIS bad. He's not the same Nik I watched at Michigan.

Gonna throw out some names here:

Jose Calderon
Kyle Korver

Both are good 3 point shooters on contracts that run through 2016-2017. Both could be traded straight up for DWill's contract, which is an expiring. If either New York or Atlanta decide they want flexibility, they could be decent options.

Of course, both are pretty shaky long term commits but, given the current state of our assets, that might be the type of pill we need to swallow if we want to fix our shooting this season (which I think we really have to do).
No way ATL would ship out Korver. Even at 33, he's top 10 in terms of 3&D guys. He's become a much better defender. I don't know what they'd accept for him. I certainly wouldn't take D-Will+Ben for him if i were ATL

dream scenario would get affalo to be the starter.. and k-mart as our sixth man..pair him with landry as our bench...i say getting those two are actually realistic since minny is rebuilding and denver is headed downhill fast...i know ben has developed, this is just the route of going all in...

11 games into a new season with new players, new philosophy, and new chemistry is not going to see a full fledged, well oiled team. It will take all of this year to see who meshes with whom under a 1000 situations to see what is or can be a winning group. The Kings shooting guards are doing fine so far. It takes time to turn around a franchise whose been in a funk for 8 years. Even McCallum will need even more time than the 2's as PG is a complicated position to learn.

Klay is one of the top players in his position in the league, some may even suggest the best.

I don't want to put a cap on what Nik can do, but that is going to take a whole lot of heart/talent/drive etc to accomplish, if it is even possible.

I'd try and just see how he reacts to this over time, if you see small improvements after the all star break or so, then there is less reason to be concerned.

I disagree that we need contributors now, I'm not in a rush, but a salvage something to make sure you don't leave with nothing trade next season is reasonable if it is still as bad as we see today.
