The 10th pick....

is not going to make us go from 33 wins to 53 wins. Why is everyone making such a big deal for this? Whether it was Brandon Wright,Julian Wright,Al Thornton,Spencer Hawes whoever it was he would not have helped us improve that much. Just settle down and see what trades/free agent signings we make in the next few days/weeks. I think everyone is making way too big of deal of this pick being bad or good.

There you are likely wrong -- in this draft I would virtually guarantee you that at LEAST one major star would come out of that group you had listed, and one or even more after our spot in the draft. The very real question is there any way Hawes could be that guy? Have to squint hard.

That's why we're called fans.

I agree. The only thing to ask is "was there a better choice at 10?" I don't think so. We don't need a SF. We need a C/PF. It's not clear that anyone left was better at the C/PF.

You could also argue that we may need a PG. And there were a few available. But nothing wrong with picking a C.

Personally, I would have been very disappointed if we picked another swingman.

Exactly, we didn't reach and got a center. Good draft in my eyes.

yeah yeah yeah, How is his post game? Can he run? Can he block shots? if he's better than brad miller we succeed in this draft!

He's supposed to be much better than Miller lately, has better post game, and probably can block at least some shots. Dunno about running, though.

Anyway he seems to be a passing/shooting center in the vein of Miller, Vlade or Sabonis rather than a big bruiser center, and I hope will make a good combo with JWill^2 because they will complement each other's abilities very well. Or at least somewhat.

Never say die.

For me, the dissapointment is not in the pick. The dissapointment is that the Kings didn't get more picks through trades. It looks like we're close to be out of ammo. We could have a very long rebuilding period ahead of us........

That is the purpose of this board. Fans come and discuss. Not everyone is going to agree. If everyone did, this board would be pretty darn boring.

Period.

Led team in scoring (14.9 ppg, ranked 10th in the Pac-10) and ranked second in rebounding (6.4 rpg, ninth). Also ranked fourth in the conference in field goal percentage (.532) and third in blocked shots (54).

Strengths: Very skilled around the basket and can finish with a soft touch with either hand. Runs the floor well and has the ability to handle the ball when needed. Also an outstanding passer for a big man.

Is he better than Brad, who knows. It's a draft, even the "best draft pick" can turn into a bust. But being very skilled around the basket sounds good to me.

I gave it a B. Simply because the teams ahead of us screwed us, and because we finally drafted a bigman. it wasnt the shotblocking/defensive beast we all wanted, but those guys are like impossible to get unless u have a top 3 or top 5 pick.

The Kings are fast becoming the Good ol' boys club. With Theus having the LV/New Mexico connection, and Petrie playing with Hawes Uncle in Portland, Im having a tough time understanding what these people do to keep fans happy. Do these people even read into fans comments?
