I am beyond bored. I am well into the area of potentially concocting diabolical schemes against stupid tourists so I decided to break up the boredom with a new feature - which may or may not last past today - called POLL OF THE DAY!

Every day - or so - I'll post a new poll on something totally random. The poll will stay for only a short period of time. When I decide to post a new one, the old one will disappear. As in *POOF*...

Our first topic of the day? The weather...

Note: If you would like to suggest a topic for Poll of the Day, feel free to drop me a PM. Or not...

Hrm. Maybe I should have a poll about whether or not I should include suggested topics in the Poll of the Day.

:p

I can't stand hot weather. I have a wood stove and lots of firewood, so keeping warm in the winter is no trouble at all, and it's free. In the summer, my swamp cooler brings the temperature in my house from ~100 to ~80, which is still way too hot. Even at night it stays in the 60s, which makes sleeping very difficult, and has resulted in some nasty insomnia as of late. Add to this the fact that hot weather brings fire season, makes the hills turn brown and ugly, and makes me very tired, and I'm definitely not a summer person. I can't wait for fall.

What's hot? Right now at 6pm its 81F in Sac so I voted the first option. The high in low 90's is really typical Sacramento summer weather. Yes, there's the hot 100's sprinkled in and this weekend might hit the century mark. I especially love the summer nights in ol' River City which usually cool off just about to a perfect temp.

Prefer the cold. But have considerably different feelings about dry heat (grew up with and do pretty well in) and wet/humid heat (absolutely detest).

Have to agree there, never understood the humidity thing till I came out East a few years ago (and I hear its even worse down south). I'll take 100 dry over 85 humid any day of the week.

Im beggining to forget what the heat feels like.

I live in a beach town here in MA, Its almost august and I have only been to the beach ( 2 minute walk from my house ) 3 times. It has rained more this summer than I can ever remember. I voted yes, love it.

I hate it. With a firey passion. Dry, humid, whatever. Hate.

I never realized how much I hated it until I moved to Humboldt County and got away from it. Now I start bitching as soon as it hits the high 70s.

I only prefer heat on the sandy beaches of Puerto Rico. Although Miami in the heat is nice as well. Say, I wonder if that's how they got their nickname? Nah. This NorCal heat is for the birds. And toobers.

I'm pretty much the same way...I need to reevaluate why I live where I live.

I love it. Unfortunately, we pretty much never get it. It's always raining, windy, and more rain over here. We had a week of terrific sunshine at the beginning of June (when I was doing exams ) but nothing since. I absolutely can't stand the weather here.

No matter how much some of you may hate the hot weather, trust me, it's far better than constant wind and rain. You just can't do anything.

I can somewhat tolerate it OK (I was better when I worked outside a lot for my job a few years ago), but I like it when it tops out around 85 or so. Unless I am going swimming, obviously it is nice to have some heat then.

I think the key to enjoying extreme weather is to have seasons that vary dramatically. That way you never get bored. In this sense (and many others), Tahoe is the perfect place to live - you just have to enjoy snow as well.

I was at Purdon Crossing last Sat. Man did it fill in this winter, you can still jump off the rocks though. An absolutey beautiful day. The Yuba is definitely one of my favorite parts of summer.
Edwards Crossing is my favorite spot. About 4.5 miles upstream of Purdon. Drive to the bridge, and hike downstream about a half mile. There's a side creek that turns into a waterfall, with a nice pool that flows right into the river. Best spot on the Yuba :).

No. Not only no, but hell no.

My mom was born and raised in Georgia, and she starts to get cold when the weather drops below eighty-five. But I, despite being born in Charleston, spent most of my developmental years living in colder climes. My notion of perfect weather is sixty degrees, cloudy, with about a 10mph wind from the northeast.
