I can kill a lot of time with a ball and a hoop. I shoot around whenever I can...and although a pick up game is fun, I don't need other players to enjoy basketball.

Holidays.

As in, on my island, every day is a holiday, barbecue and beer time. Tyreke will be let out to go to practices and games, but everyone else will have to party as every day is some holiday somewhere.

Well unfortunately I've got some much more original ideas to come, but I too was spooked by the little run on full fledged cuisines, so figured I might as well nab something to keep my island a happy place:

Chinese Takeout

Yum! Note that I did not just say "Chinese food" as I am referring specifically to our Americanized dishes -- does not have to be takeout per se, but I'm taking all the Orange Chicken and General Tso's and fried rices and lo meins with me, and the rest of you can make do with shark fin soup or ox penis pie or whatever the hell else you might be able to dig up in the freaky food asian hinterlands.

Whether I'm looking at this draft as a list of the 20 things I'd want to provide me with entertainment and sustenance on a lonely island, or merely as a list of the 20 things I hold nearest and dearest to my heart, it would be sorely lacking without

Animated Shorts -- Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies, the old Mickey and Donald shorts, Tex Avery's work with MGM, the Felix stuff from the silent era, the new shorts Pixar has included with their feature releases, and on and on... I'm a nerd for the stuff.

Illuminated Signs -- Couldn't think of a better way to word this one and still cover all my bases, but I'm primarily thinking of all the glittering beauties from neon's golden age, like the two above. From crumbling old roadside motels and coffee shops, to the gaudy monstrosities of vintage Vegas, I've always been a sucker for the shiny and blinky.
