I am so happy Im at the bottom of this draft! I have no idea where to take my paradise after this round.
:p

That said, in leau of all the 'Ultimate' picks taken so far, Im going to take something a bit more specific.

My Island will *Always* be coated with the brilliant Northern Lights.

It may not be the most sexy pick, but I think combining a PERFECT weather scheme with one of the most BEAUTIFUL things to see in this life-time is valid of a second round pick.

So freaking pretty and relaxing...
My paradise is now open!

So far I have life, in all its forms, from any time, and from any realm. With such a collection, I need to avoid as much infighting as possible and because it's my anniversary tomorrow I will use my 2nd pick to select:

Love

Not just the emotion, but also the stimuli/causes of the emotion, and all the ways these emotions are expressed. You can make it, sing about it, feel it, and enjoy it :).

Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection and attachment. The type of love I draft mostly denotes happiness, wholeness, and peace, not that unhappy/unrequited love stuff.

The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure ("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my boyfriend"). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.

As an abstract concept, love usually refers to a deep, ineffable feeling of tenderly caring for another person. Even this limited conception of love, however, encompasses a wealth of different feelings, from the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love to the nonsexual emotional closeness of familial and platonic love to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love. Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.

They are kind of interchangable emotions. I think it works as one pick...Happiness is a type/subset of love (also a good descriptor of it :))
They're emotions/concepts that often work together, but they're not interchangeable. The fact that you've had to use separate definitions, pictures, and Wikipedia links in your post should act as an indicator that they are clearly two separate and different things.

This draft is already ridiculously inclusive, so I don't see the need to get crazy. Pick one here, and if the other isn't available later on, I'm sure you could probably think of several ways to pick it differently (or at least come close).

That is what prompted my concern as well. I think its safe to say that one of those picks would imply a certain amount of the other. Let's not be greedy. :)

Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Well, despite this thread turning into kind of a bad parody of a trite internet dating site -- Likes: life, love, books and food! -- I am just going to ignore all that and keep my list small and flavorful. And what's got more flavor than:

Pizza!

All kinds. All types. Thin crust, thick drust, deep dish, stuffed crust, all the toppings...well except anchioves. And pineapple. Best yet, as any college student will tell you its a balanced meal, with representatives from all 4 food groups (assuming you have a meaty topping). I may not be done yet foodwise, but I had to get the clasic. And then have something chocolatey for dessert. :p

Beer.

Now, I have barbecue and beer. Let me just repeat that, I have:

If you'd like to come to my island and trade me some of your goodies for a beer and a steak or a burger, the going rate is as follows:

- Pick 1-10 will get you a beer and a brat
- pick 11-20 will get you a beer or a brat.

I'm going to go with a late addition to my list that may relieve the necessity of some of the others.

Time Travel
I can revisit any era in history. Maybe change the course of it. Prevent my shoulder from being broken and then I'd have a more bitchin' summer. Or maybe something more sinister. Or maybe I'd just go kick it in the 50's for a while or the mid 70's and watch punk explode in NY. Then do it all over in LA and England... and anywhere else for that matter. Maybe I'll go back in time and change my first pick just in case someone thinks of something I hadn't accounted for?

Awesome!

Hmmm... one of the picks today is eerily close to something very important on my list.

Hadn't planned on it, but I'm thinking I might be the first to test the challenge system in a round or two.

Next up...

SANTA BARBARA, CA

I lived in Santa Barbara, CA for almost ten years, through college and beyond. My wife and I met on the first day of our freshman year at UCSB and we even got married on campus 8 years later. I love the weather, the beaches, the food...pretty much everything about the town. If I could afford to live there the way I do here in Chico, I would move back in an instant. My wife and I have vowed to return someday...and return we will...

FINALLY! :p

One of the greatest things ever created and a personal favorite of mine...

With my second pick, I select..

Sleep

I LOVE sleep. Nothing like getting a nice 8 hours of sleep after a long day and nothing like sleeping in after a long week!

I kind of want to go take a nap right now! :p
