Summer League roster info ?

I expect the blocked shots, but I want to see some court recognition and understading of the game. He doesn't have to be perfect, but he has to be good enougn to earn some minutes on the floor.
 
More on IT not playing in summer league. Jones reported that IT wanted to spend the summer finishing up his degree from Washington. He also reported that Smart went to Denver and worked out Jimmer, and says he wants him to work on team management. He said Jimmer was working on his defense.
 
Thanks for the Great SL info. TRob, Jimmer and Whiteside should make it interesting. Also we can hope a diamond is found among the other players.

I thought Darnell Jackson is a good 5th big to have on the team. He can come in and be productive in patches.

I am really disappointed to that Honeycutt is injured as I think he really could have done with a summer league. This is 2 years in a row that he won't be able to play for different reasons. The decision on Jimmer/Thomas makes sense. We need to get Jimmer up to speed where he can at least come off the bench and give us some productive minutes. He will never be a great defender and he will never be Nash in terms of play making but if he can be decent defender, ball hander and play maker he becomes a valuable player for us especially with the long range shooting.

Whiteside really needs to make this summer league count and make a claim that he is ready for some minutes in the upcoming season. He has a great unique skill but the rest of his game has to catch up. If he can develop into a productive player for us, we really would solve a lot of our problems.

T-Rob will just be T-Rob but I am really disappointed that Honeycutt will miss out again. Even in very limited time he got last season, he just seems to make something happen. Very raw but intriguing prospect.
 
I didn't mind Darnell Jackson 2 years ago but he wasn't, at the time, in our long term plans. His contract could have been ended in January if I remember correctly without having to pay him more. I don't know that he won us any of our 24 wins that year and even if he did I preferred to have all his 8.2 minutes a game go to Whiteside to start him seeing the game. If we don't sign JT back I still think we have the depth at the 4 and 5 that he shouldn't see anything but garbage minutes and I would prefer WS and Trob get those already.

Good luck to him hope he makes it back into the NBA and continues to work hard.

Westy at the time was having real issues with his rotations and if Petri would have let DJackson go along with the Landry trade our lineups would have been, cleaner. Westy was one you needed to restrict him to the players you wanted him to play as he showed the year before.

I agree, its a shame about Honeycutt. He was going to get serious minutes at Las Vegas. Now, to be honest, I'm not sure what the future holds for him. He's certainly had his share of bad luck. As for Jimmer, never say never. I always have my opinion on how good a player can be, but I've learned my lesson on making defining judgements too far in advance. Many years ago I watched two young PG's face off several times during the season. Bibby and Nash. I remember telling my son, that Bibby will be the better player by far. He handled the ball better at the time, and never drove into the key in a crowd and picked up the dribble. Nash did! Well, I was wrong! Nash learned and got better. He got a lot better. It took him 5 years, but he got there.

By no means is this mean't to be disrespectful of Bibby, who also had a very nice career. But it does mean, that you simply can't judge a player in his first couple of years accurately, especially if they're a PG. Its easy to sit back now and say, yeah, but it was Nash! But back then, Nash was just another young unproven PG in the league. You never know for sure where greatness is going to come from. Trust me, no one knew that John Stockton was going to be John Stockton. More often than not, its whats between the ears thats most important. Thats where toughness comes from.
 
Oh man, if I there was a year I'd want to go to this it would be this one. This should be a fun team to watch.
 
I believe some of the games are being televised, and Cruzdude and myself will be giving up close and personal updates, and interviews if possible.

I told Cruzdude today that I couldn't wait to corner the Maloofs. I'm going to hold down Gavin while Cruzdude waterboards him for answers. Just joking of course!
 
Hope to get at least 2-3 player interviews per game plus a story line with Jimmer and TRob thru last 3 games. Updates from summer league begin Monday, 19th. Who knows who else might get a KingsFans.com interview? Of course, it might be from jail if bajaden does his interviews.

I still have my get out jail free cards from my monopoly game. Not a problem! Besides, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right? Hmmm! Hope that doesn't include me....

How did the kings do

and did anyone impress you who wernt drafted and could be a steal for a team
 
.... The first game is on Friday.

If you mean how did they do in the mini camp, difficult to tell considering they release barely any footage, but a few a journos have mentioned being impressed with T-Robs all round game, and Jimmers confidence.
