Unfortunately, I have no great faith in State Senate leader Steinberg, even though he's from Sacramento. Probably more delay, more hearings, confusion, politics, more excuses...

Reading that it sounds like Cal Expo is still the group doing the holding. Report due out next month or something?

Wiht the lockout looming and a March deadline to potentially move, this could be cutting it close.

Reminding myself, AGAIN, to never read the comments below the article. Its so depressing to see so many ignorant people trying to spread their ignorance. One commenter says Arco is used only 100 days per year and its the same for most arenas he/she researched. I'd love to see that research. Arco is used over 200 days a year and could could host many more events in a modern facility.

Yep. I read the comments too, mostly negative. The Maloofs appear to be hated in Sacramento just by reading the comments. People think they are billionaire play boys. Regardless of what the negative Nancy's have to say I hope you guys up there get the darn thing built. It will not be easy and this land swap is very tricky. Good luck! Go Kings!!!

I REALLY REALLY need to stop even GLANCING at the comments below the articles!! To anyone who DOES read these comments, yes...the Maloofs do seem like they're just flaunting their money around town asking for handouts, and that's SO not the case!(and by the way, they're no longer billionaires...just millionaires) But anyway...I just hope we pack butts in the seats come season time and kill the league with Arco Thunder once more to drown out the Negative Nancy's...that's the ONLY thing to do right now!

Actually they were never billionaires. At least not individually. Maybe the whole family reached that level, but no one of the 6 Maloofs (Mama and 5 kids) had that much. Not on Forbes list of the top 500 billionaires, anyway. However, Paul Allen and Mark uban are on the list, last time I looked. Allen's in the top ten. Probably the new Nets owner, too, although I haven't looked lately.

Last I checked, Prokhorov was ranked 24th in the world and 2nd in Russia although for a long time, the Nets would introduce him as Russia's richest man and Forbes had him #14 in the world. Not sure why he dropped to #2 in Russia and #24.
