still nothing for kobe... no fine, suspenion, etc etc.... i could guarantee if that was artest that kicked the ball, he would have been suspended by now.....

Is there any way to email the league offices?

I was watching the game when it happened and was thinking the exact same thing......no T? It's true, if that was Artest, Stern would have had his panties all in a ruffle.

Thanks for the link VF21, here is the email I sent:

I would like to first start by saying that I love the NBA and the product that is being put forth. It is highly entertaining and, in my opinion, consists of the best athletes in the world. I love the direction in which the league is headed and the "globalization" of the game of basketball. Including the best players throughout the world will only better the product on the court.

I would like to comment, however, on an unfortunate incident during the Lakers vs. Sonics game on March 12, 2006 televised nationally on ABC. It was a great game and quite close in the final minute when Kobe Bryant was fouled and sent to the free throw line. He missed the first free throw and as the ball caromed back towards him he kicked the ball "soccer style" out of frustration with force that sailed past the referee and into the stands. Fortunately, I don't believe the ball struck any of the spectators. However, I did not see any type of reaction from any of the referees calling the game. No technical foul, no warning, nothing. And as far as I know, no fine from the league after review of the incident. I can't help but feel if this was any other lesser known player or a player with a reputation for bad behavior that they would have received a technical foul and fine from the league. I understand that players are very competitive and intense and in a close game missing the free throw was very frustrating for Kobe. His reaction of kicking the ball in the direction of the fans, regardless of his intention was totally, and completely inappropriate. I believe that in a post "Pistons vs. Pacers" NBA, that conduct such as this should not be tolerated, regardless of the player. If I am a fan in the first rows of a game, I understand that I may have an incident where a player jumps in the stands to save a ball from going out of bounds, or an errant pass may cause the ball to sail into the crowd. I would not expect to have to defend myself from a kicked ball by a frustrated player.

I thank you for taking my comments to heart and would appreciate any feedback you may have for me.

Sincerely,

Lounge Lizard

PS. I would love to see the Sacramento Kings nationally televised more often.

I put my real name instead of LoungeLizard.....Was it a little much?:)

Excellent letter, IMHO!

I'm hoping you'll get an individual response and not just a canned "Thank you for your comments. We appreciate fans who take the time to write about their concerns. You can be assured this matter will be looked into."

Let us know, okay?

thats a well thought out letter.... be sure to update us on the reply

You were pretty close VF.

You forgot to mention that when Kobe kicked the ball it almost hit 2 players from the Sonics in the head before it went into the stands.

Can someone fill me in on what happened? Did this happen yesterday? Is there a link?

He missed his first free throw in a close game and kicked the ball at two Sonic players' heads. It missed and went into the crowd instead.

Love that line, hahaha. You were compelled to put that in huh? I wonder if we all sent letters stating how much we love the Kings, if they would take some consideration into playing more of there games on national television, or atleast not have ABC change their line-up on us.

Wow, suddenly the Kings games are being featured on NBATV instead of as a "League Pass" game. Sucks for us, cuz we get NBATV's halftime and lose the features shown on CSN. I guess it's ok if more fans are getting access to the games....
