They also tend to be much less informed, and thus lazy. Your views would tend to fit in with this, as you're not a Kings fan, but a Jimmer fan. The patronising isn't going to help your reputation on this forum either.
I also agree whole-heartedly with this. I don't rely on any outside viewpoints on the Kings team because invariably they are going to be wrong on some point due solely to the fact that they don't care enough to watch every single game or follow as closely as I do what's going on with the team.
I give more credence to Amick just because he was the King's beat writer and seems to have better inside track with what's going on with the Kings and their players than the Bee writers at times, but even he can be removed at times.
Having League Pass I'm forced to listen to drivel by completely uninformed broadcasters who have no idea what they are talking about. When my wife catches a game she is constantly asking me "Is that true?" when the other team's announcers say something incorrect, and I'm constantly having to tell her to just ignore them.
To make an easy point the Houston announcers all game long were talking about how IT was the son of the famous Piston's guard....*wince*
That's just being lazy, though Clyde isn't great even when he has his facts straight.
And to say that non-Kings fans are inherently non-Biased is an absurd claim.
A fun one to toss out is in the last game against Portland.
The Portland announcers were just awful and I had to eventually mute them. But here was one of their 'un-biased' gems.
They said that Cousins is a fantastic offensive rebounder, but a poor defensiver rebounder. They then said the reason that he's a poor defensiver rebounder is because there are not any points to be scored off a defensive rebound and basically saying that he's not willing to work hard unless he can score himself some points.
Of course if Cousins were on their team he'd lead their team in defensive rebounding and he has more defensive rebounds a game than offensive rebounds, so it makes thier comments more like vitrol and trashing a player than anything else.
Their broadcast was full of the stuff and hey it's their 'opinion', but it's factually incorrect data that they are using to justify their position that he's selfish. And if you're a Portland fan who doesn't follow the Kings, then you're going to believe them, and it's junk like that which can follow a player around.
Just because it's an outsider's point of view doesn't mean that it's not going to be biased. If you have a writer who's been saying all along that Cousins will never make it in the league because he's a cancer, then you're going to see that writer continue to focus on anything that justifies that original point of view while diminishing anything that might contradict that point of view.
So I'll continue to trust my eyes and judgement when watching the Kings to form my own opinions rather than trying to find outside sources to 'confirm' my thoughts on a matter.
I don't know what the agenda is of an outside sports writer or blogger, but I know my agenda pretty clearly. I want all of the players for the Kings to succeed so that the team will be successful. I will be rooting for them to grow their games and minimize mistakes.
