So If We Get #4, Who Do You Pick?

Come on now. Would it surprise anyone if we did get #4? Indian ghosts have been haunting us for years, even with the move. Griffin, gone. Rubio, gone. Thabeet at #3 (I'll go with Brick on that one). Now what?

I'd pick Evans, if he was still there.

I think now that we know the key guys that are coming out, Rubio, in particular, we can have a better idea of who would be left over at #4.

think you have to designate who the Top 3 are to answer this question. Griffin, Rubio, Thabeet? Some other combo?

Also think we had a "Who Are Your Top 4" thread on here a week or two ago that would probably pretty much answer this too (i.e., whichever of them is left over).

Let's face it, we have no idea. How can anyone with sound mind come educated conclusion. We are not privy to workouts, detailed scouting analysis and reports, and the bevy of player data insiders and GMs have access to. Anyone who says we should definitely do this and definitely do that, and MUST pick this guy, blah, blah, blah is talking out their a**.

In fact, I am a fan of Thabeet and now I am having my doubts he is ready to compete at high level, game may be too fast for him right off the bat, and his skills too unpolished.

Case in point: Greg Oden looks lost out there, and he reacts about as quickly as Thabeet does.

We don't really get that choice -- all a bounce of the ball, and about 60% of the time its going to be #3 or #4.

i agree that its not about a matter of choice.. rather i was trying to say that its a matter of having faith that we land the 1 or 2 faith that lady luck is there and that C-webb can land us a good number.... i would prefer the one though

This may sound crazy, but last year Lawson was a top 5 pick had he came out I say draft him. He's easily one of the best point guards in the draft and that's including Rubio too for those who love him. I say you take Lawson he's the point guard that's most ready to play and is the overall quickest and toughest. Why not take a chance on him? Did anybody think Westbrook or Bayless was going that high last year well they did and for Westbrook look at what he's doing. My pick at 4 is Lawson.

Assuming Griffin, Rubio, and Thabeet go 1,2, and 3. The two remaining players who are slated to be in the top 5 are:

Jordan Hill
James Harden

And those who are projected to be mid-lottery:
Stephen Curry
Demar DeRozan
http://www.nbadraft.net/players/demar-derozanTy Lawson
Earl Clark

And then a couple of guys who I think are overrated and I'm predicting falling to late-lottery to mid-first:

Brandon Jennings
Tyreke Evans

And two high risk/high reward players:

BJ Mullens
Jeff Teague

If you want to swing for the fences, I think you go Jeff Teague. If you want to fill a need but play it safe, I think Ty Lawson is the one (though a giant reach at #4). If you want to take some risk but not a high risk, then I think Stephen Curry is your guy.

Me, I like BPA and that's James Harden.

.

Being in this situation for the first time (for me) where we can get the #1 but almost as easily get the #4 makes you really hate the lottery system...as a borderline lotto team it was exciting to see if we move up, now its just pure agony...

If the team that has the second pick already has a good young PG, they might want to trade down and we could move up and give that team the 4th pick and maybe nocioni or something. If that isn't possible, I would probably have to say Jennings.

No he wasn't.. He was in the 20s or early 2nd round.

I think this really depends on whether Rubio declares. If not, then either one of these would be my 4th pick: Jennings, Thabeet or DeRozan (huge risk I'd be willing to take).

If Griffin, Rubio, and Thabeet are off the board i hope we go for someone with a lot of potential. Jennings, Teague, Flynn, and DeRozen all fit that description. I don't like Mullen that much and Evans doesn't really fit, if you assume like i do that he can't play the point or small forward position, but both guys have good potential as well so i wouldn't complain to much if we picked them at #4.

Not many people are even considering James Harden. He has the potential to become a Brandon Roy type player. Unfortunately Kings will probably pass on him since we already have Martin xD

I think by the draft, this forum will be filled with every possible scenario as a thread..

I'm convinced by June, you will see something like this:

So, if we get the 3rd pick and we select between 5:15 and 5:30 PST, who would you pick?
So, if we draft 2nd and the moon is full, would you pick Rubio or Griffin?
So, if you are eating a pb&j sandwich and the Kings are picking 4th, do you draft Thabeet then?

;)
