I think Landry and Ellis should sufficiently shore up our shot blocking deficiencies
No no, we want to block shots. We don't want the other team to block our shots.

Its really hard too find videos of Kevin Seraphin showcasing his shotblocking skills on youtube. But I found one with a cuple in it. I truly think this is the guy we need too slot beside Cousins. He played in France before the NBA (which produces quality NBA players) and hes been on the Wizards the last cuple years. I saw about 25 of his games last year.
He has a strong midrange jumper out too 18 feet. Which would be great for letting Cuz work in the post and stretching the D. Hes strong as an OX when defending the post. His post game is super refined, he seems too make scoring look easily over great defenders..
he has the potential too average 1.5-2 BPG if give the proper minutes. His per36 for shotblocking in 2011-2012 = 2.3BPG.. Last year was an off season for him because he was jerked in and out of the lineup due too depth, no consistent miuntes. My Comparison of him would be a better shotblocking Nene. High character kid too, from the research I've done on him
Hes still only 23, and would probably be available since Wiz have a Glut of PFs. Like I said only a cuple Blocks from him in this Vid but its the best I could find.. And theres much better offensive vids of him out there.
haven't watched that kid in ages, but from what I remember (and his stats bear it out), he's an utter black hole. difficult to run a guy like that next to both Cousins and Landry.

Well ive seen quite a bit of Seraphin last year and the year before sooo.. I wouldnt say hes a black hole at all. He flows within the offense and takes smart shots. His assists dont show it but he moves the ball around. Hes definitely not looking too score everytime he gets the ball like Landry. I know they both prefer to play in the post but, Kevins midrange jumper is what could make it work with Cousins and Vice Versa with DMCs good jumpshot.
Bullets Forever said:Offense: Seraphin wasn't the worst offensive player in the NBA last year, but he was among the most destructive. Kuhveen shot frequently (23.5 percent usage rate, higher than Nene) and inaccurately (47.8 percent true shooting percentage, worst among Washington rotation players). On top of his inaccurate shooting, he was a terrible passer who averaged only 1.7 assists versus 2.7 turnovers per 36 minutes last year. This provided a deadly combination that killed Washington's efficiency any time he took the court, landing Seraphin his first Andrea Bargnani Award for providing his team with the least production of anyone in the NBA, contributing -4.9 wins and owning the second worst shot selection in the NBA.
I like him, but he's likely the only PF the wiz will keep, as the others have shown nothing and look expendable.
I'm all for Stiemsma if we can sign him for a similar deal that Minnesota offered. His presence alone won't vault us into playoff contention, but he will fill a massive void with this lineup - shot blocking!
Plus, I like that he's been an effective role player (who doesn't try to do more) whose hard work has earned him a rotation spot in this league. Hollinger also notes that he's a solid finisher and has a nifty long-2 - which can help greatly for floor spacing and cuts.
While I'm still scratching my head over the Landry deal, I think this would be a nice small pickup if we can clear some roster space.
Running a big backcourt of Vasquez and Maclemore should help as well, Vasquez's defensive liabilities aside.
Amnesty Salmons, get Asik, find a stopgap for SF in the meantime (Moute? My apologies I still don't know how to spell his name).
Once people get an up close on how Vasquez actually moves I think any idea of his being a help defensively is going to go away in a hurry. I could probably still get around him.
And poor Mac is being asked to do things as a rookie he didn't even particularly do in college.
Or we could have undersized chuckaholic Monta Ellis come in and show us how its done gambling for steals and leaking out at every opportunity.
Or...we could Have Thornton and IT....
My "or" scenarios just keep on getting more horrific.
#TeamWright
Sign Wright and avoid Monta and I'm happy this offseason
The front office can do me one better, drop the pursuit of Ellis and use that money to sign Ak47 instead. I'll take an Ak47/Mba pairing at SF/smallball PF.
Wright is not a smallball PF.
But when do we ever agree on anything?![]()

Those high on Vasquez will be disappointed when they see how little he can actually do, as well as his assist numbers going down because Cuz is the focal point and the rock is going inside to him. And when he's not racking up assists because we're playing through Cuz and he can't do much else?

Oh, I'm not high on Vasquez at all. The Tyreke trade was a disaster, as far as I'm concerned as I would have preferred to 1) keep tyreke, or 2) if that fails, keep Lopez as a defensive center. I'm merely saying that at 6'6", Vasquez has a natural advantage our diminutive PG's do not. He's still a lousy defender, but at least Chris Paul will have to go around him instead of just shooting over the top of him like he wasn't there.
