Ahem...SAR and SARS are two very different things, just thought I'd point that out.
Understanding that Brad is not an atheltic defender or rebounder, why does that automatically mean we should blame everyone else for not masking his deficiencies? Personally, I think Brad and Mike should be the first to go. They're great players, but they are the worst in terms of lacking defense and athleticism, rebounding, etc. Maybe Peja falls in to the same category, but he can score so much that I would much rather see Mike and Brad going for a truer PG, without as much scoring ability, and a banging athletic center, maybe not as good of a passer, but still decent. Patch up the holes on both sides of the court. The other consideration is that we can get some very very good players for Brad and Mike, maybe if we include Peja we can get something else.
And, as observed, Brad never really brought us that much success. He had a decent season when Webb was out, but that was when he was at PF, where his duties were different and he could mask his failings. I am all for getting a better center and moving Brad to PF, (SAR at SF, or Peja/Bonzi, depedning on who is left). But Brad really hasn't proven anything in terms of being a dominant center. He will always be a liablility when the playoffs roll around, as painfully illustrated last year when Jerome James just dominated us. Keeping Brad as our starting C puts us in a very, very difficult situation defensively and on the boards, and just because he fits the offense well does not mean that we can ignore that.
