SAC-SAS Trade

I know no way would the spurs bite on this, they would lose a key guy and an experienced playoff performer but they are getting old and sometimes falling flat on the offensive end.. how about

Kevin Martin

for

Manu Ginobili

why for kings: total salary dump. manu plays out his contract if he decides to. then rejoins his team. but got to admit he is a very good compliment to some of our young guys, he can be a mentor offensively and defensively to our young core. also he is content with a bench role.

Why for the spurs: getting a younger scoring guard. He could ease off some pressure off duncan he may be defensively a liability but on the offensive end. no one draws fouls better than kmart.

I think the Spurs would be heavily criticized if they did this trade. They would lose the face of their franchise of being a defensive oriented team; an approach that brought them so much success. They would be ditching that style of game.

I agree. They won't do it. I truly think it's very probable Manu will end his career there. He may want to come back to Argentina instead of becoming an old-glory in the way down in another team.

The Spurs won't do it?... At this point in their careers Kevin > Manu
I would be pissed if Sac did this. Kevin is worth more than a salary dump.

Kevin is worth more than a salary dump!!!!!!!!!! I am so sick of people saying to trade martin for expierings! If we trade kmart we better get an allstar center in return!!!!!

I'm sure Orlando will happily give up Dwight for KMart...

(by the way, I understand that the above is sarcasm...)

Kevin Martin is worth far more to us than a salary dump. Kevin Martin is worth far less to a team with an all-star center than that center. This is one of the major reasons why Martin is not going to be traded anytime soon. There are very few deals out there involving Martin where both teams would actually agree to the deal. And a salary dump is not, in any conceivable fashion, one of them.

Who says we need an all-star center?
