Ray McCallum and the Reno Bighorns

Ray Mac currently playing against a team featuring Ike Diogu and the evilest cookie in the world, Von Wafer

One guy down on the Reno squad who could possibly be of some help to us as a glue wing off the bench is Trent Lockett. Liked his game in summer league and still like it now. Not great at anything but a solid role player who plays pretty good defense.

Ray just rose up and hit a pull up fadeaway over his man. The benefit of being a larger point guard. Stroke looks good but still has room for improvement

A little over halfway through the 4th quarter, Ray has 16 points(7-15 shooting), 1 rebound, 5 assists, 4 steals, 3 fouls, three turnovers

Ray Mac uses his strength to drive towards the hoop then attempts a running jumper from about nine feet away and misses it. Not the most athletic guy but strong and long.

Bighorns with the win.

Overall, I'd say Ray is definitely a work in progress on both ends of the court. He has the makings of a good outside shot but kinda has the Reke problem where he falls backwards on a lot of his attempts. Also like Reke, Ray looks far more comfortable driving to the rim than sticking around outside with the ball in his hands. Unlike Reke, he's not very good at finishing and he has the makings of a pull up jumper. On defense, he's really stiff in the hips which causes him to play further off of his man than he should, causing him to get rubbed off by a big man more than he probably should be. That said, he's long and active on that side of the court, which resulted in quite a few steals today.

But overall, he's still pretty raw. I can see why we haven't been playing him.

Apparently I blacked out for the entire 07-08 season cause I don't remember Mikki Moore starting 79 games.
