... as part of the new marketing campaign created by McIntyre? Linking Sac to franchise roots?? Tons of creative marketing things always seem t be available and doable with such a fervent fanbase... now finally maybe the Kings are being "coached" to spend money on them and have the brainpower in place (from the NBA) now to do so. This announcement does seem to have NBA fingerprints on it.

Unfortunately I also thought of Jim Crandell but I'm guessing either Vlade or Oscar. For people who don't know the achievements of Oscar Robertson, go look it up. He made the triple double routine.

You know what ... I dont want to get anyones hopes up, but that surprise could be the return of the black alternate jerseys. I mean, what other minor yet awesome thing could they possibly announce? they arent going to get an arena deal done by tuesday .. It could be some kind of ticket price reduction, but I think a new jersey is a solid guess.
Its been years now. They MUST know everyone has been asking about them ever since they left... it would be a good way to boost merchandise sales. Maybe they could put all the money from black jersey sales towards the arena? I dont know, it would be nice if they thought outside the box a bit though when it comes to funding the damn thing.

After thinking about I'm guessing it's probably going to be announcing some kind of group that has agreed to make a hard dollar committment to the Arena... this as a way to kick off the PR/fundraising campaign for the a downtown plan. But who if not Webb? I actually would not be surprised if it turned out to be Webb.
