Psst Peja?

If you guys hate Webb and the Kings team with Webb, why even watch the games and call yourselves Kings fans? Why not be upfront with it and say, "I am a Peja fan only, and could care less about the team." Then, at least, the rest of us Kings fans could sift through this mindless drivel.

Not worthy responding to, but seems like I had to stoop down to your level since I hadn't responded to your other provokations. Personally, I also think you're an imbecil, but I don't share it with you because I respect this board and the opinions of its posters.
You did share it with me and i appreciate you opinion. I would accept the term ******* and son of a ***** in my case but hey if imbecil is what you want hell i will take it.

Can you simply not stand to say that Webber is a great player that he is the reason the Kings are on the map. If not is it because he is black or what. I don't see you saying anything about Miller and he has not been up to par all year. Oh wait i guess thats Webbers fault.
Yes, I'm a racist. In fact, the next year I am planning to put forth a petition to David Stern to ban all colored players from the NBA.

This is really sad, I'm not saying it's you Stojakavic, but is this what it's come too? Kings fans hoping that Peja or Chris will have a bad game so they can make their points? This is what is wrong with a lot of King fans lately. Chris and Peja are both All-stars, and are our two best players. If Peja goes 5 for 16 I'll stand by him, if Chris goes 6 for 22 I'll stand by him. I'm a Kings fan which makes me a fan of every player on this team. If you find yourself almost hoping at times Chris will miss a jumpshot or Peja won't get that hustle rebound(even if it's in your head), I got news for you, you are not a good fan. This isn't directed at you Stojakovic, just something I've been seeing more and more of, and I had to Vent.

Exactly!!! I mean we don't know how to take it. If you are just a Peja fan and would leave if he left then i would understand. Just let us know where you stand. I have seen remarks aobut Mobley, Webber and Bibby from you so it seems Peja is all there is for you.

I used to love yelling Peja for ThrEEEEEEE until i meet this guy and Piski now i see Peja get on fire i jump up and yell the same but when i sit down i find myself making sure Webber is over 40% and thinking oh sh-it we wont' ever shut those 2 up just like the 13-1 with Peja leading in scoreing that kinda stuff pisses me off.

I am embarassed by the comments made (of late) in this thread. Personal attacks are not (and never have been) acceptable on this board.

And I am not talking about trolls either, but long time respected members of this forum.

We at KingsFans.com DO NOT treat each other this way, and you all know it.

Yeah Peja has an off night and they all get mad at the rest of team blaming them if Peja don't score 30. I don't get it. And we won. geez.

I did notice the shave. And I also heard someone yelling "he can't dribble". I didn't realize it was Dunleavy.

I kinda like the clean shaven look. I was hoping he'd have a big scoring night. Now he's probably going to go back to the scruffy look!

I don't think it's anything to worry too much about. They are trying to figure out where the shots are going to get distributed with Mobley there now. Plus I'm sure that Patterson had a clear assignment to take him out of the game, and he's more athletic and has about 20 more pounds of muscle than Peja. So it's too bad his double-digit streak has ended, but it was just one of those nights. I'm sure he'll be back with a vengeance.

Hey we know about the fg% now lets take a look at rebounds and assists or do you not even want to go there. Face it Webber is the best all around player on this Kings team. Peja is the best shooter. Mobley is the best scorer. Bibby is the best dancer, Miller is the best fouler.
and Mo Evans is the toughest -- after all the abuse he's taken in the last couple of games!:D

With 12 stitches in his head and a fractured rib? I don't think there is any question.

... there might be an interesting debate about the appropriate way for a player to handle a poor shooting performance in the beginning of the game...

If the shots aren't falling, do you:
  • Keep taking them within the flow of the offense when you are open?
  • Work hard to get shots for yourself to shoot your way out of it?
  • Pass up most open looks to avoid making things worse?
  • Stop shooting altogether and work on other ways of contributing?
Obviously it depends on the situation, but arguments could be made for any of the above.

I believe that everyone has had an off-night this season, so I really don't see why Pedja isn't allowed to have one. I happens. Give it a rest.
Really don't think it is the end of the world....... or maybe this is one of those "sky is falling" moments for some fans.

All 5 guys can still pass the ball.
What a great post and a great waste of time. Of course they can all still pass but not as well and not as often. That is what Stojakovic was saying.

And now let's return to the situation a couple of games ago -- Peja did NOT contribute in other ways. In fact he actually quit doing the other things at the same time he quit scoring. ALL of his rebounds came in that first quarter along with all of his points (until that one basktet in OT). There were no assists. he got pummeled by Patterson on the other end (although there at least I think he did better as the game went along). This was not something where the guy quits shooting but starts hitting the bioards and setting up teammates. He just fell off the map altogether. I am consciously avoiding the word "quit" here because if Peja actually quit as often as we accuse him of doing, I cannot imagine a single teammate or coach who would remotely want him on their team. Think its more like lost his focus and got totally passive. His body was out there running up and down the court, but the brain was not dialed in.

When he is on the floor - no matter how off he is - there is always a defender on him. Nobody plays help defense of Pedja. So worst case scenario - 4 on 4 on the floor. Considering the talent that we have - it still should work in our favor.

While no doubt true to a certain degree, that just does not cut it. We don't pay Peja Stojakovic for the honor of him being Peja Stojakovic and gracing us with his presence standing in the corner picking his butt. We also don't pay him to get outscored 4 to 1 by his counterpart on the other side of the court. While we may have been playing with 4 guys on offense, the Blazers were not. 5 scorers vs. 4 scorers = tough game for us.

Peja doesn't do enough else to justify him not shooting. Shooting is his reason d' etat, not just his defining trait, but the only thing he does which even makes him an NBA player, let alone a star. If he's not shooting, he's not helping. Or at least not at any appreciable level that we couldn't get from any number of players. Jason Kidd can shoot 3-10 and still make an impact with the rest of his game. Peja cannot. And more relevantly, DID not. We had an All-Star SF, they had a scrub, and we came out of the matchup having to make up 17pts amongst our other players. 2pts 0reb 0ast in the final 41 minutes of the game. Think about that. He's going to have his off games. But off or not, he has to try. It is the entire reason he is on the court. He can't just decide that today I don't feel like shooting anymore.

If it was such a waste of time, why respond?

What I was saying to Stoj, is that we still have a great passing team. I do not think we need to have a better passing team, since the object of the game is not to pass the ball. Although not as good at passing, this team can still pass the ball very, very well. I would forsake a little bit of passing for a better team, which is clearly what we have done. Stoj, as it would seem, was also making the point that Miller is a better passer at the 4 then Webb, which is absurd.
BTW, you do not need to be so rude in your responce.
