I agree with that in terms of how good they are in college. Do you really thing Kemba will be a good NBA player? (I would say better than Flynn, but between Flynn's rookie year and being out this year, there isn't enough material to base anything on). I feel like he is no different than Ty Lawson, but without as much range on his shot. Lawson was a much better distributer imo. Walker can score in more ways, but his drives he pulls in college I don't see working at the next level.
From what I've seen, Kemba has a mid-range game, a floater in the lane, a game off the ball, an ability to create his own shot, an ability to run the pick and roll, and ability to drive to the basket at will, and he's a good on the ball and off the ball defender. I haven't seen anything that he can't do that you'd ask of a guard If you see him play in the future, look critically at his game and see if you can find the flaw(s). So far, I haven't seen it. He also has something that is difficult to assign a value:
He hits the big shot at the end of the game to win it for you. I've seen him
will games to a win, just completely take the game over. So far this year, I haven't seen that from anybody else, with the possible exception of the Honneycut game. But the year is very young. Also, I didn't see that from Lawson when he was at NC, and Flynn had maybe one great game at Syracuse. They were nice distributors on good teams, but they didn't just take over the game. You didn't
fear them. With Kemba, you fear him. Coaches are already starting to have game plans totally devoted to stopping him.
