I haven't seen him play yet so I don't know what he is or isn't. I've seen bits of Kyrie Irving though, and I like what I see.
I think the announcer had it right. Kemba Walker is the best player in the country right now. Kyrie Irving the best point guard.

He looks pretty good but idk he's pretty short and weak.
He's not weak. He looks pretty buff to me. I'll give you the short. The short guy has raised his team from unranked to #7 (and they should be higher) in less than a month. He's single handedly winning games for UConn. I haven't seen any player, including Irving, doing what he's doing.

Just finished watching the Kentucky/North Carolina game. Unless you were a North Carolina fan, it was a terribly officiated game. They fouled out 3 of Kentucky's starters including their center, and also fouled out their backup center. The Ref's must have gone to school at North Carolina. Despite this North Carolina barely won the game. College officiating has always left something to be desired, but usually its not one sided.
Jones didn't look very good. As soon as he's matched against a player (and players) as athletic as he is, he plays poorly. With no athleticism advantage, the focus is on his skills, which aren't that great right now. Indicates to me that he's a project when it comes to the NBA. Probably will be a good player, but you'll have to wait a while to see it.

It was his first bad game of the year. I can't say the same thing for Barnes, although I think some of his problems if you want to call them that is the system he playes in. I'm speaking of Barnes here. I thought the ref's really took Jones and Knight out of their games. Jones is an aggressive defender, and in this game all it got him was fouls. I grant you however that North Carolina is big inside and Jones is really having to play PF when he's a SF. He needs to work on his perimiter game.

Don't know if you saw the Arizona/Baylor game, but I really like Perry Jones. Great athlete. 6'11" and he has impressed me with his passing skills. The dude is a SF with terrific size and mobility. Try and catch a game with him if you can.

Unfortunately, I didn't catch the AZ/Baylor game. I've been wanting to see Perry Jones. As you know he's ranked #1 on some draft boards. Next time Baylor plays, I'm taping that game. Maybe this year might be the year the Kings finally do get the #1 pick...:)

Honeycutt got some points from me in that Kansas game. I like guys who can score against athletic teams, and Kansas definetly has some talent at the forward position. For Honeycutt to have that kind of performance was impressive.

Very nice game by Honeycutt. There could be a lot of talent in this upcoming draft, especially if key freshmen come out.
I don't know.. I haven't seen anythign that would tell me this is going to be a good year.. Definitely better year than the draft 4 or 5 years ago (the one with Bargnani) but not by much.

Anyone been watching Baylor at all? LaceDarius Dunn is on fire from 3. He's one of those guys that you could get in the 2nd round that can be a 3pt specialist off the bench and an energy guy like John Barry or something.. He's definitely someone I wouldn't mind seeing in here as an UDFA or a 2nd rounder.

I promoted LaceDarius last year. He was the go to guy along with Tweety Carter. I like Dunn a lot. I'm just curious to see what his true height is. He's listed at 6'4", but has always looked smaller to me. The dude can score though. As for Baylor, I'ver seen them play three times now. Of course Dunn didn't play in all those games because of a suspension. By the way, I agree with Kingster. There's going to be quite a bit of talent in this draft. Not much in the way of centers, but its a bonanza for SF's and PG's at the upper end of the draft. I think there will be a few good PF's that come out of this draft as well. Take a look at Tristan Thompson when you get a chance. Long way to go, but the cream will rise to the top.

Walker is listed at 6'1'', but sure looks shorter than 6'1''. I really don't want Jonny Flynn vol.2 I know hes playing better than Flynn, but their games seem similar after watching a lot of both of them in school. I'd take Irving either way. I guess it depends on where we'll be picking.

If we somehow got the #1 pick, would you guys abandon our needs and go for a Terrence Jones? I would, but just curious what the early season opinion is.

I know it's cliche to compare guys to Kevin Garnett, but Perry Jones is of that mold. He's more raw than Garnett was, but I think he has that potential.

It would be between the two Joneses for me, at least at this point in time.

The way I look at it, bajaden, it took me until into February of last year to see as much talent as I've seen in the last two or three weeks. Very subjective test, but we're in agreement. This could be a very good draft coming up.

Kemba >> Flynn. Head and shoulders above Flynn.

So when is this thread going to be renamed "...And with the #1 pick of the NBA draft.."

Mods can do that right?

Anyways....I think we should go BPA over need. But considering we could use a SF, PF, or PG...I'd say BPA will probably end up fitting a need. Especially given the positions of this years best prospects.

Prediction: We FINALLY get the number 1 pick. But the lockout causes all the best prospects to stay in school for another year.

No one seems to think it will affect the draft though. Those guys still want those guaranteed contracts, and if they're in the first round, they'll get them whether they're playing next year or not.

Prediction: We FINALLY get the number 1 pick. But only because the NBA plans on moving us out of Sacramento.
There, fixed it. It's looking like we're going to be getting another top pick. With our luck, I can't see us getting the #1 unless something really, really bad is about to happen. It's just our luck...

So far I like both the Jones. I especially like the long range potetial of Perry the third. I also like Irving. Hard to ignore Walker. I like Tristan Thompson, but I've only seen him play twice. Sullinger has some nice skills, but really struggled when faced with a really good defensive player as big as he was. He's not particularly mobile, but I guess for a 6'9" player thats listed at 290, he moved fairly well. He needs to trim down a little.

Kris Joseph of Syracuse had one nice game that I saw, and the other game was just OK. I'm really looking forward to seeing Josh Selby play. Once he gets on the court, he will affect the draft boards. He's loaded with talent. Plays a little out of control at times though. If you guys get a chance take a look at Greg Smith of Fresno St.

I like both Irving and Walker (although I doubt I would take Walker first overall for any team) but with our uncertainty over Evans' future role in the backcourt, I don't know if I take them with very good forwards like the Joneses on the board. Although Irving just may be good enough where he has to win by being the clear BPA. Perry Jones' upside is very exciting, it'd be hard to pass up on a guy who is 6'11 with long arms, explosiveness, shot blocking and rebounding ability, and guard skills. I wish Baylor would get him the ball more, but at least he's showing how much of a team player he can be. If we're more in the middle of the lottery, I like Mason Plumlee.

I agree with that in terms of how good they are in college. Do you really thing Kemba will be a good NBA player? (I would say better than Flynn, but between Flynn's rookie year and being out this year, there isn't enough material to base anything on). I feel like he is no different than Ty Lawson, but without as much range on his shot. Lawson was a much better distributer imo. Walker can score in more ways, but his drives he pulls in college I don't see working at the next level.

From what I've seen, Kemba has a mid-range game, a floater in the lane, a game off the ball, an ability to create his own shot, an ability to run the pick and roll, and ability to drive to the basket at will, and he's a good on the ball and off the ball defender. I haven't seen anything that he can't do that you'd ask of a guard If you see him play in the future, look critically at his game and see if you can find the flaw(s). So far, I haven't seen it. He also has something that is difficult to assign a value: He hits the big shot at the end of the game to win it for you. I've seen him will games to a win, just completely take the game over. So far this year, I haven't seen that from anybody else, with the possible exception of the Honneycut game. But the year is very young. Also, I didn't see that from Lawson when he was at NC, and Flynn had maybe one great game at Syracuse. They were nice distributors on good teams, but they didn't just take over the game. You didn't fear them. With Kemba, you fear him. Coaches are already starting to have game plans totally devoted to stopping him.

Kyrie Irving must have seen the Kings record...and got a knife.

Duke's Kyrie Irving out indefinitely, toe isn't broken, ligament damage means no timetable: http://es.pn/gEJhKT

Just saw on yahoo that he might be out for the season, great news for us maybe he'll drop to #4 pick now. Thats right, I am already expecting us to lose the lottery even if we get the worst recrod.
