Ok so he's probably the worst player next to outlaw right now... i agree that he's been put into a terrible situation... lockout, no summer league, no preseason, 2 coaches and cousins....on the positive side it doesn't mean he will be forever. While all of us are not exactly sure what kind of player he will end up being in a few years... the next steve nash, bibby, JJ redick, or quincy douby?

One things for sure, and that is with better ball movement he should at some point have more open looks to shoot his signature 3's. Which is the one thing we do know...that eventually he will hit open 3's at a decent or above avg %.

i really hope Smart is a positive influence for Jimmers development, and i really really do hope he is the next steve nash... Jimmer has a great work ethic so time will only tell.

side note: i apologize to all those i pissed off for posting my how i feel this second, tell it how it is this second jimmer thread that ruined our celebration last night.

No, Donte Greene is automatically worst player on the Kings until he proves he can do something, anything of note on an NBA basketeball court - consistently.

Good note. This kind of "learning," if that's what it is, is a HUGE sign of maturity. At the very least, it shows you aren't totally pig headed. Not sure what Rookie was trying to say. Maybe the smiley face is a clue. :)

What numbers? Jimmer has more PPG in less minutes, more assists, Ok less rebounds, a better shot percentage, free throw percentage and three point percentage.

The PER numbers which tend to give little credit to man on man defense show Salmons who plays against starters like Wallace and Melo as slightly worse than Jimmer who plays against the second string. Don't leave defense out of your way of rating Jimmer.

Putting just the PER into a perspective of starter playing against starters and bench players playing against bench players, I think it is safe to be of the opinion that Jimmer is functioning worse than Salmons. Sorry.

Why don't you post in your other Jimmer topic. You say positive Jimmer thread and continue from the other thread lol as bad as you think Jimmer is playing your posts are worse.

I'm not leaving defense out of it; largely he's been poor on that end of the court; I'm just putting it in the perspective of what we might expect from an experienced VET and a first year Rookie.

My point is, am i disappointed by what I've seen from Jimmer? No not really, this is what i expected. Salmons, yes I'm very disappointed.

I didn't want to start a new thread and since his name is being thrown out there so much, I'd like to discuss Travis Outlaw. Travis Outlaw could only start shooting a basketball about a week before the season kicked off. I'd definitely give him some time to get healthy before blasting him. He could turn out to be an asset when Smart throws out some goofy lineups, he's always played his best as a 4 and he'll probably be doing that with the current makeup of the team

Stopped reading here. It's impossible that you actually think this is true. And if you do, what you have to post is not worth reading.

EDIT: LOL, so funny to see how many others basically said the exact same thing I just did.

Why do people just spout off nonsensical lies like this? Jimmer has not mostly played against second stringers, any more or less than Salmons has. Jimmer has played starter minutes while not being a "starter" himself, and has closed out many games - whether close or not. Yet you are talking as if the only time Jimmer plays is in garbage time when the game has been decided - this has just not been the case.

PS - It's always comical when people completely blow off statistics, then go on to make false statements like "Jimmer, who plays against the second string."
You essentially told him that the facts mean nothing, and then proceeded to base the rest of your post off of a statistic that you completely made up.

Well I also think Jimmer has played better than IT, Cisco, Honeycutt, Whiteside and possibly JJ.

Jimmer is the Kings 4th leading scorer and he has had a couple of poor shooting games recently.

Why hate on this kid? Is it because of all the hype he came in with?

OMG, stop feeding this troll already. Someone ban him or delete this thread. It's totally unnecessary. It's clearly just another antic to get people riled up again after his last thread.

I've been on this forum for many years now and I seldom post, but I have to come out and say that this guy is a troll.

**** you. These are not nonsensical lies.
Easy now. This sort of things happen with player fans all the time.

Entertaining excerpts from super awesome pro-Omri, who now happens to be the most irrelevant starter on the Cavs, posts:
Honestly, Omri is showing the possibility of being one of the best 3 point shooters in the history of the NBA. Consider his age, and that he already has his quick release down. I'm starting to think more and more that his good shooting is not a fluke, but that it could even get better and more consistent. And, the better it gets, the easier time he will have slashing to the hoop. Offensively, his upside is just huge. And defensively, at the bare minimum, he is more than solid, and honestly with the possibility of being great. He is also a better rebounder than any of the above comparisons, Rice, Ginobli, R. Lewis. People, get real, he is widely considered to be the number 3 or 4 rookie in the league, and he too, is only 21. Oh my lord what a draft. Open yourselves to the possibility that Petrie drafted two hall of famers in one draft. And maybe three that will end up having their number retired in the rafters at Arco. Just open yourselves to the possibility.

Omri is going to be a multiple time all-star. Mark my words. And this draft will go down as one of the best for any team of all time. And, Omri's number will end up one day hanging in the rafters of the new Arco Arena, next to Tyreke's and maybe even Brockman's. Mark the words. They will become reality. And that is a proclamation, folks. Mark 'em.
I don't want to get into this whole Omri vs. Donte thing. I think they are both extremely talented and have the potential to be allstar quality players in the future.

I will, however, correct you on one thing: Donte is not younger than Omri. He is actually 4 months older.

The other thing is, understandably you guys are impressed with Donte's progress, but I'm not sure that you are aware of what Casspi has done over the summer. He is a completely different player than he was last year. He has improved pretty much every parameter of his game, and the impressive thing is the systematic way in which he does it. He sets extremely high goals for himself and doesn't rest until he reaches them.

Which brings me to your last point, about Donte having the desire to become an elite defender. I would say that Casspi has that desire just as much as Donte does. He is not as good a defender as Donte is yet, mainly because he is not as athletic, but also because he is still learning the NBA. He played pro ball in Europe and that shows in a lot of his traits, but the pace and the level of players you have to defend in the NBA is a whole different story. I can assure you that by this time next year Omri will be considered a great NBA defender.

Again, all of this is not to take anything away from Donte. I think he has great talent and I hope that him and Omri, along with Tyreke and the others, will become the legends of the new Kings dynasty.
^This type of post has shown rather often recently only not quite as strongly.

Ultimately, what I'm trying to say here is that player fans will always put their player up on a pedestal, complain when he perceives that said player is being slighted, and adamantly defend the player whether or not he or she is clearly in the write or wrong, just s the fans of a team will often see their team slightly more favorable than he or she should, etc. etc.

So lets all just take a deep breath and complain about something that we all agree on: Paul Westphal and Kenny Natt.

Just a note to those who say the OP should be banned, etc... The best way to deal with a thread you think has little to no merit is to ignore it. It's awfully hard for someone to have an argument if no one bothers to respond.
