The losses are OK in my opinion, as long as they can pull it together for the playoffs. Here's the problem: If the Kings finish 4 or 5, as projected, if they get out of the 1st round they will most likely face the Spurs in round 2. This is not a good thing. The Kings can actually move further in the playoffs by finishing as a lower seed and playing Seattle or Phoenix in the Semis, which they have a good shot to upset; this sets up a West showdown of the Kings and Spurs. Yes, the Kings will probably lose but at least the season was more interesting. Moreover, this raises the Kings stock which could potentially lure star players here.
