Okay, I've seen the movie, thanks to the sacrifice of a very dear friend. :)

First of all, the critics are insane. The whole flavor of the movie is marvelous, just enough tongue-in-cheek to keep from taking itself too seriously, just enough hold-over from the first film to have you nod and smile in recognition, and just the right teasers to ensure you'll want to see the final film in the trilogy.

If you've read this far and haven't seen the film yet, DO NOT GO TO THE NEXT POST.

This is your final warning. I have to discuss this with other Pirates fans.

You have been warned...

:)

So, much like the ending of 24's season 5, our hero is in an incredibly perilous situation.

I couldn't believe how quickly the movie passed. One minute you see the coffin and just KNOW Jack has to be in it and the next he's jumping into the mouth of the Kraken.

Among my favorite moments:

Jack as a shish-kabob.
Elizabeth having to point out the "sign" of the word Tortuga burning on the deck of ship.
Jack, after kissing Elizabeth and being handcuffed to the mast, smiling and saying, "Pirate."

I took the last one to be an ultimate compliment to Elizabeth from Jack.

Anyone else?

I thought the speech Jack made to the natives while Will was hanging there all trussed up like a hunter's prize was hilarious; I'll have to see the movie at least three more times to understand it.

This is definitely a film to be seen several times. After the first, when you know what to expect, you can concentrate on some of the things you missed.

I loved the movie. And I really liked Jack going on about his dirt. hahaha.

I found on my phone some dialogue from the movie that could be used as a ringtone. So now my latest ringtone is Will saying, "I challenge Davy Jones." Everytime my phone goes off, everyone's like, "what the heck?"
