Pick Up Gerald Green?

I would love to have an athletic guard who get in the ir and learn as a Sacramento King.

I know we have many guards but he can come in and show his potential.

He was in teh dunk contest, so he has to be good at something!;)
 
I hope he's not the next Harold Miner.

Green has a lot of good things and a lot of bad things going for him. As much as I want a freak athlete on this team, after seeing how horribly he was wallowing in that netherworld we call the T-Wolves, I don't think playing with a young team would do him any good--he won't learn, he'll continue to channel his mistakes. I thought Houston was a prime place to learn for him--but their pressing need for a PF caused him to be waived; I thought he could've learned from his NBA Draft Comparison, T-Mac. Now that he's cut, I still think he needs to play for a good team where it's a learning process for him. He'll be in the NBA for the next 3-4 years regardless due to his namesake and his dunking abilities, and the fact that GMs ooh and aah when a lottery pick of only a few years past is waived so many jump the gun. Expect Riles to fall in love with him in Miami; his obsession with lottery picks/freak athlete types is very evident.
 
Some things in common with Gerald Green and potatoes:
1. When hot, both like to be in the air.
2. Lots of potential if nurtured properly.
3. Equal in intelligence.

Rockets only released him because of the injury to Landry. Once Landry's back, they'll drop one of the two 10-day contract bigs and pick him back up. No way the Rockets lose out on the potential.

Unless there was a prearranged agreement between Green and the Rockets that Green would be coming back after Landry heals, I think a team might pull the rug under the Rockets' feet and attempt to get Green; I mean, I know he's hated by many teams that preach team play and defense, but come on, his tantalizing potential will surely endear a team to him. I don't know if Boston wants him back, as Danny Ainge has an obsession with freak athletes, or if the Clippers or even some other non playoff team like Miami wants to give him a chance as well. Who knows.
 
Gerald Green could not get time on a 11 win Timberwolves team eager to give any young talent a shot. I think it's time for people to accept that he sucks.
 
There would be nothing wrong with picking him up. He's young, cheap and exciting. He has potential. If he doesn't work out, what difference does it make? At least we would have given a young athlete a chance at success.
 
Adelman decided to take back Mike Harris who is not a big but rather a swingman although he can swing to PF a-la Battier i.e. depending on match-ups.
 
the kid needs work on his fundamentals. it might be good for him to go to europe for a year or two to get some training.

why pick another swingman up when we have salmons, cisco, kevin, and douby? I dont want gerald green to come and steal some of our kid's time...
 
i would pass on gerald green. Plus he is a wanna be gangster type, ron might smack him up on the court for all of us to see lol.
 
Green is a perfect example of drafting on potential and athleticism. As Vince Lombardi said, " Potential means you haven't done anything yet ". Thats why I stay away from players with no fundamental skills. Not saying it doesn't work out once in a while, but the odds are against you. And no I don't think we should pick him up. We have enough problems without him...
 
that wouldve been nice to have traded for him but since he was waived theres no point... if we did he would be a free agent this summer anyways.... and we have to resign beno with our mle.... if we draft a pg like lawson or agustin, artest walks and we dont resign beno then yeah... sure that'd be great but i doubt thats gonna happen.... green is a freak of an athlete and would be nice to have him but thats not gonna happen...

I don't see the Kings as needing to waste a roster spot on Gerald Green. Let some other team do their part in giving "a young athlete a chance at success." Gerald Green has had his chances and, from all reports, is not making the most of the them. We need TEAM players and from what I've seen Gerald Green is pretty much a one-trick pony.

Minnesota did the same to Beno Udrih when they have a crappy PG rotation. Not sure why they let Beno go... Stupid move on T-Wolves part.

Anyhow, Green is a "me first" player who kinda sucks at the "me first" part. Think of Ron Artest ball hogginess with a crappy shot, poor ball handling, and someone who can't create for teammates.. NO WAY TO GREEN.. Bad bad player.
 
I predict the "talented" Gerald Green may be soon joining another Green* by the name of Orien playing pro B-ball in Australia (or elsewhere overseas) as the ex-King has found a new temporary home down under. *(or is it Greene - who cares?)

Yeah but there's just not that much call for a dunk that requires you to have a lit candle in a cupcake balanced on the rim. I'm thinking you'd get a delay-of-game warning just trying to set it up.
