I would just like to add that Odom's move on Diaw and dunk over Amare looked like something out of NBA Street video game.

No I love the Suns. They have the best PG in the game who is pass first and he is a great leader. They have one of the most exciting big men in the game, Amare just dunks on everyone and now he's added a very nice mid range shot to his game. They are exciting to watch. I don't see how anybody can hate Nash, Amare, and the rest of that team. I hope they beat SA in the 2nd round because I hate everyone on that whole team.
I'm rooting for the Suns to get killed dead... in the second round, though; **** the lakers.

Why don't you like the Suns? I know you don't like smallball, but I feel like any team with Amare Stoudemire (aka Moses Malone reincarnated) can't really be considered a smallballing team. The Suns control the paint with Amare and Marion, and yeah, they run and score, but they're also built like a traditional championship team.
I think it's the Suns' championship to lose at this point. Last year they were gimmicky and fakey without Amare, but Amare gives them the force in the middle that traditional championship teams have.
I don't like fastbreak basketball; what I liked most about the Kings during the glory days was their execution in the halfcourt... A beautiful precision offense, full of player motion, and screens, and ball movement. What Phoenix has is just one guy slinging the ball around, and the other guys jacking up shots, and that's not my cup of tea.
I'd much rather watch a ground-and-pound type of game than a run-and-gun one.

Most of them. I don't think there's any question that Kobe has had, and will continue to have, a great career. I'm not a personal fan of his, but you have to admire the talent.
What I always think of when I look at stats like that is why it had to happen. I wonder if Kobe can still look back and think that playing with Shaq was so horrible. I'm not being facetious, I just wonder in retrospect if that isn't one of those "be careful what you wish for" situations.

Not sure if they go around telling stories about them, they seem to be more tight lipped about it though

Right now, things might be lookin even uglier behind the scenes in LA if they were both together. In the past, there's no way in hell the Suns would've beaten LA w/ Shaq in the middle. After seeing Shaq in the Chicago series, I don't even think Shaq would've made a diff against the Suns this year.

probably less than that, actually, cause I know very little of what really happened & just have heard the rumors that float around. I wasn't trying to cut down Kobe or anyone else, I just think it's a shame where personality conflicts get in the way of what's best for a team. Again, I'm not sure if that's what happened with the Lakers, but I think we saw it here with the whole Webb/Peja struggle, and I think the team suffered.

Honestly I have no idea. I just thought that Kobe & Shaq were pretty dang good together. And, you're right, things might have been worse if it stayed together, I don't know all the details, I just think sometimes it would have been interesting to see how things went with the Lakers if Kobe & Shaq had stayed together.

The money breakdown and FA issue makes this moot. Keeping both was too rich for Buss' blood -- Shaq had his 96 grandfathered contract to be extended. Kobe had a 137 max ext coming to him in the same offseason. Shaq demanded the 30 mill per year range and wouldn't cowtow like he did in Miami. Shaq felt he should've been paid for past successes. Buss thought he was becoming a bigger halfasser with each passing year. Note that Riles has just criticized Shaq for taking half the year off and he said that he takes the blame for not demanding a culture of sacrifice there...
Kobe gave verbal commitment to Elgin Baylor and reneged at the last minute (this from Elgin's own mouth). No way he woulda re-upped if Shaq was extended imo.
Even if they did, I think it would've continued to be messy. Buss pulled the cord on Jackson during the reg season in 04. Shaq under Rudy T. woulda been messy too. It was just an untenable situation all around.
