Per Tim Kawakami, Warriors WILL NOT support Kings move to Anaheim

It just seems to me that Kawakami, whom I respect a great deal, is now changing his mind on the original tweet:

I really think the one stone to kill all birds is... Larry Ellison, meet Joe and Gavin Maloof. Now, I'll leave you alone so you can work out a deal to keep this team in Norcal.

What a win-win that would be. I'd think both Kings and Warriors games would be available in Sacramento, and people up here could go to 2-3 games at either arena. You could simply choose, like you choose A's or Giants, or Raiders or 49ers (or be like some people and root for all of them).

That'd be 7 pro teams, plus Cal, Stanford and Santa Clara in the Bay area. That's bordering on some saturation right there. I mean, shoot, if Dodgers-Angels-Lakers-Clippers-Kings-Ducks-Royals + colleges is bad in LA, wouldn't Giants (Go Giants!)-A's-Raiders-49ers-Warriors-Royals-Sharks + colleges in the Bay area be even worse?

About 15 or so years ago there was talk of a mega-stadium that would be built in Solano County, near junction of I-80 and North 505 freeways. That would have put it within city limits of Vacaville but close enough to Sacramento (35 min drive) and Bay Area (30-60 min from all points) that it was deemed a "perfect" location for team like Oakland Raiders - or new "NorCal Raiders." It was only talk at the time and subsequently the land pointed too was turned into a big Kaiser Hospital. However, there's still lots of undeveloped land in that immediate area for possible new sports staduim or arena. As always, nothing gets done without strong financial resources.

Been stated many many times... the Maloofs have said the Kings are not for sale. And you can bet the farm that Larry has contacted them to see if they are interested in selling the team. If Larry can't buy the team, than there is no conversation to be had.

Does Kawakami normally have a lot of insider news?

Because this really doesn't make sense. He is the same guy that said Stern is going to sell the Hornets the Ellison like its inevitable. If thats the case, there is no point for the Warriors voting against the Kings leaving Nor Cal. Its better to have only 2 teams in the area instead of 3 right?

Kawakami is one fo the best NBA writers and has always had a great finger on the pulse of the Warriors' franshise at least. As far as national scope? No idea.
