Pedja?

That is what we need from Ostertag consistent play in the defensive including rebounding I just do not see that from him That is one of the problems the Jazz had from Ostertag is consistent play.
You should know better than to judge a player's performance by his prior teams. Tag on the Kings is a lot different situation than Tag on the Jazz.

No, they both need to slap the crap out of someone - at least occasionally - to get rid of the ''cream puff" defensive image they both seem to have cultivated recently.

;)

we need athletic offensive minded players.... that can attack the basket. but no matter what, we need someone who can come off of the bench and score. that way peja can get a rest, our lead wont dwindle down to nothing, and... well thats pretty much it. if they attacked the basket instead of jaking up 3's they would get more rebounds.... well offensive ones....
That I disagree with. We have enough offense we need defense. If we had a player who was a good defender that could rest Pedja that would make us stronger in long run because it help cover our weakness which is defense not offense.

BTW this the most I posted in one day than I have since my four years on the board. Maybe I will make it to 100 in year:eek: .

Pace yourself. It's a long season...

Do you need a break? Should I go to the bench for a sub for a little while?

:D

Not when he was with the former team for a long time(8 years I think). He has yet to show it in a Kings uniform wheather it was his broken hand or just the way he is as a ball player, Of which I think is the later. He has not played consistantly.

We shall see... my money is on Tag being a valuable addition and the right choice AGAIN by Geoff Petrie.

I hope you are right because we will need him playing consistantly(good:D ) in the playoffs. Put it this way I was dissappointed that we got him to replace Vlade. Not so much that we lost Vlade but we gained Ostertag. Who I never liked.

So which is it?

Shooters or "athletic offensive minded players that can attack the basket"?

Basically, what we need are for the players we have to play up to their capabilities. If they do that, we're in good shape...
you're right, but we still need more shooters..... but someone who can attack the basket would be nice during the playoffs when our shots(peja) stop falling.

Maybe Pedja is saving himself for the playoffs. He can rebound more when he feels like it, so maybe he'll flip the switch when it's time. After last season, he probably thinks the regular season is meaningless.

Another thing I noticed, whenever he goes up for a rebound with a teammate, he always lets the teammate take the ball.

Then that is wrong. Home court in the playoffs does matter. This team can not wait untill the playoffs to play like they should. They must play as they should throughtout the season.

Also that is wrong. He really needs to have that killer instict and say that is my ball and no one is going take it away from me mentality when he goes for rebound whether it is a team mate or the opposition.

Peja is occupied with a beautiful woman and his child. What's the problem?
Only a problem if that beautiful woman can outrebound him. ;)

A couple of things:

1) we will NOT win an NBA championship if Peja continues the pathetic rebounding -- its not just bad, not just wussie, its flat out embarassing. Nothing 6'9" with external sex organs should ever be that weak on the glass. He's never been remotely strong on the glass, but for his entire career as a starter he was a consistent 5.5 to 6 rebound guy -- weaker than he should have been, but survivable from your SF. This is not.

2) BUT, it is still December. Plenty of time for him to pick it up on the glass. Its clear at this point that there will be no great steps forward for Peja -- he is what he has always been and is never going to give you 8-10rebs. But there is no physical reason so far as I can tell why he could not return to his normal levels. Unfortunately any progress on that front has been VERY gradual, if at all. But the point would be that Peja's wussout on the boards this year is NOT a question of us not having the personnel to grab more boards, its a question of Peja not working hard enough on the glass for whatever reason. As inexplicable and maddening as that is, that could very well correct itself over the course of the season.

P.S. Tag got off to a VERY slow start with the broken hand, but since that tiem he has NOT been any more inconsitent than anyn other bench player. Inconsistency always plagued him in Utah, but for us what has been inconsistent is Rick's use of him -- all depending on matchups. On many nights Tag hasn't even been ont he floor long enough to be consistent or inconsistent.

I think Tag NEEDS to be on the floor for certain stretches of every game regardless of the matchup. His ability to block shots and clog the lane leads to fast break baskets and steals and this gets the team running which is when they are best.

It's just funny to watch him sit in there and dare people to try and score on him in the low post.

Well that settles it. Peja will simply have to be placed on a strict program of steroids and illegal stimulants. Maybe even mid-altering drugs. If the the drug routine is successful, Peja will be a Ron Artest player with a great long jumper.

Perfect, we'll have an absolute beast for maybe three years, long enough to build a dynasty, then his kidneys will fail, he'll go mad and think he's Ethel Merman, and we'll have a tragic hero for the ages.

they gotta start defending also...No Defense! If Dirk was called "Irk" for no D, we must start calling back "Peja", not Pedja...NO D!

Funny thing Bibby can dunk in NBA Live '05! Can he really dunk?
