PDA and the Denver media

Wow, I don't know where else to put this, but man, I feel really sorry for the Denver media. They have no idea. They've bought the act hook, line and sinker.

Long considered one of the brighter basketball minds in front-office circles, D’Alessandro has spent years building his reputation as an analytics and salary cap guru. In 2010 he joined former Nuggets’ general manager Masai Ujiri’s staff and worked his way up to role of Vice President of Basketball Operations, helping the Nuggets win a franchise best 57 games in 2012-13.

The old idiom, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” applies aptly in this scenario given D’Alessandro’s splendorous esteem around the league and Vivek Ranadive’s increasing dictatorial stranglehold on the Sacramento Kings organization. The fact D’Alessandro was unwilling to remain a puppet in Ranadive’s idiotic marionette scheme says all you need to know about the type of character D’Alessandro possess.

This of course is a huge win for the Nuggets organization.

Of course, huge win for Denver. Of course, that's why he took a demotion. Cause he's so in demand and everyone wants him.

Lol, we'll see about that. Den after all is the organization which has made one terrible move after another for a few years now. Ripped apart the decent foundation they had. These idiots traded Mozgov for two protected 1st rounders this year(via OKC and Memphis). And that's just one of their many recent idiotic decisions.

The old idiom "there's no fool like an old fool" more aptly applies to these idiots.

My guess btw is PDA already found a new source for his leaks. His mom should take away his phone and put him on timeout.

I can't say I'm surprised. A lot of people seem to have confused "reliable level of accuracy" with "fair and accurate reporting" when it comes to Woj. He's a complete sell-out where his sources are concerned, which is of course why he gets the inside information that he does. It's a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" philosophy which is relatively harmless provided you understand what he's doing and why. I'm pretty sure that the actual NBA decision makers (or at least a majority of them) know what the deal is though, however clueless the local reporters may be. Getting PDA out of our front office was a huge win for us -- particularly because he feels the need to leak anything and everything. If Woj can't find a mole to do his bidding (ie give him scoops) in Sacramento from now on, he's going to come down even harder on every decision we make out of spite. Which is great! Because that will tell other GMs that they can negotiate in good faith with Sacramento now without worrying about their players reading on Twitter the next day that they're being shopped.

"splendorous esteem"?

i've thought the sacramento media has been far too easy on the new regime's decision-makers, but this is funny stuff; the denver media is laying it on more than a bit thick here, and it's kind of embarrassing. PDA may, indeed, be a useful commodity in a reduced capacity where he has little in the way of tangible access to power and resources, but when given the keys to dad's shiny new convertible, he drove the damn thing into a ravine. i doubt very seriously that anyone around the nba is prepared to hire him back into a general manager position. hell, he was an assistant gm in denver before being hired by the kings in the first place, and now he's taken a demotion in order to return "home," and with his tail between his legs, no less...

For a while I was able to buy into the kool aid that it was all Vivek's fault but umm, Vivek is clearly changing his leaves, Vivek has owned up to his mistakes, and yet leaks still spring up that say he is the bad guy, everybody is the bad guy, except the guys that eff'd everything up. There's only so much that I'm able to swallow before it becomes clear what the real problem is. In the past it was definitely our cheap, spiteful owners. And while I am still a bit leery of Vivek overall, he seems to be learning and moving in the right direction.

We can laugh but I wouldn't be surprised if Denver is above us in the standings next season.
First thing that came into my head when I read the title thread. Would not mind seeing Dre return to Denver for his final season now that that scumbag Brain Shaw is gone.

and still going nowhere.

Its the ultimate treadmill franchise. Committed to a philosophy and personnel designed to get you a 3rd place ribbon every year. Yes yes, let's run because we're at altitude. Very cute. Until games matter.

It also won't be because of Gerbil. Or rather some of it may be. for some strange reason it seems that Denver has a deeper accumulation of talented players than we do. Odd how that happens.

Success is relative. At this point I'd be happy to be on a treadmill that gave us a couple of first round playoff exists.

weve been on a treadmill that hasn't even garnered 30 wins.
