I’ve been doing a little digging and I believe 25 3 pointers made by the Magic is the most made by a team in a loss.
Looks like it’s second most. The first? Last year when we beat the Clips 176-175

He hit two big threes in the OTs, along with a big denial of Banchero at the end of an OT or fourth quarter (can’t recall). He was big for us.I know it’s been said but I’m really happy with the fact that Keegan took and made that 3 after throwing up a wounded duck earlier. That is a really good sign for a guy to step up in a big monend swish it. Difference maker on the boards too especially offensive rebounds
Orlando fans mostly moan about Sabonis:
"Crazy how sabonis can drive his shoulder into and break our guys nose and probably give him a concussion with no call"
"There's a reason Sabonis regresses into a 4th-5th option on offense in the playoffs and can't manage to stay out of foul trouble. He plays dirty, does alot of sneaky foul, pushes alot. Overall he's just a **** player"
"Imagine if we didn't trade Sebonis. That would be a crazy front line"
"Monk cooked every one of our guards and whenever we tried to switch but gotta say he got some really "favorable" screens from Sabonis."
Just looked at Sabonis’ numbers and i had no clue. Why doesn’t anyone talk about him?? wtf
A lot of people in other forums seem to put a lot of stock into the educated speculation that Ham sells as inside info. I try to forget about him when I can avoid him because I know he's just scrubbing various Kings forum for ideas and repeating themyou missed your opportunity to say
James Ham
I guess that's one way to look at it if you just blatantly ignore all the times he gets abused without a call. I'd still argue Sabonis comes up on the losing end of that battle more than he gets away with dirty play.Orlando fans mostly moan about Sabonis:

He plays the old fashioned way which isn't as exciting to some as the new everyone is Jimmer style.I think it says a lot that the guy had a 22/23/12 night and we all collectively sortof shrugged at it while it was happening because he's been so good this season that we expect that level of play from him at this point. He also was flirting with another double-digit turnover night by the third quarter so in some way not talking about his numbers seemed safer. And to his credit, he stopped turning the ball over from that point on.

As Slim pointed out earlier, it only seems like teams go off on us. Believe me, Ive felt the same way but we are right in the middle for 3pt defense.
Banchero was scoring at will. I think Mike Brown was just trying to throw different looks at him.

Someone’s gotta do it, might as well be us! Also, we seem to be a pretty good OT team the last couple of seasons, which is very nice after losing most of them for a decade and a half!
20/13/8 on juuuuust under 60% from the field in Dec. He's upper-middle class man's Joker.
Like I predicted before game start - it was a good game.
FREE THROWS - this becomes an Achilles curse for the Kings. Today only 67% from the line (21 from 31) and we are the last team in whole NBA by %. You can win games when shooting good FT or you can lose, but luckily we won today.
I don't necessarily mind JTA as a player, but I question bringing in a dude for the biggest possession of the game, ice cold, to cover Paolo who was going full scorched earth on us. It worked with the (apparently fake) forced TO, but man. Questionable call.
I was perfectly okay with it. Paolo was dominating whoever we had guarding him so why not try something different? It's not like our defenders were taking care of business at any point before that.
Either way that game took years off my life.
It was baffling. Kessler Edwards is pretty much the prototype to guard Paolo well, yet didn’t get the call.I don't necessarily mind JTA as a player, but I question bringing in a dude for the biggest possession of the game, ice cold, to cover Paolo who was going full scorched earth on us. It's a really big deal in these close games. Since the trend has become the norm for this roster and some of it's main players, would have to assume that it's likely to bite them in some big games.
Might seem small, but it really needs to change for them to move into contender status
How am I unable to handle any type of criticism when you’re going with personal attacks? I don’t care if you disagree with me, but look how you responded compared to iowamcnabb. I have nothing against creating open conversations with a place that allows disagreement and differing takes. But your literal response to another poster was telling them root for a new team because they had a differing opinion. But apparently I’m the problem because I think Keegan needed to shoot better than 26.2% from 3pt for the month of December? or for calling out Kevin Huerter for playing some of the worst basketball in his career? Or for stating that this was a “bad” win in my book because we let an Orlando team missing 2 starters and most of their rotational players nearly steal a home game where they were also coming off a back to back? A game where we had a completely healthy squad?Sure dude, whatever floats your boat. You did the same thing in the Keegan thread, you've done that with Huerter the whole year. You approach things through a massively negative lens lately and it's just not a whole lot of fun to read and digest. Sorry. I don't choose to view the Kings that way, partially because I'm a fan of this team and I want to believe the best in it. But I've been posting here long enough that people know I'll call out bad play/coaching/players/ideas when I see it. If you can't handle the slightest criticism to your postings, then yeah, maybe take a break from the forum and the team for awhile. Obviously getting to you too deeply.
Was it perfect? No. Our star player was atrocious. But how many games last year did we win in crunch time when Fox was off like this? We had 3 dudes step up in a major way (Domas/Monk/Murray) and pick up the slack for a pure gut-check win in 2OT on the second night of a B-B. After the gutless performance last night, I'll take that.
Does this mean I think we're destined to go win a title because we won this game? No. But I think this was a great response to the "effort" shown last night and the amount of heart the majority of guys played with.
You already know my take on this one… but I think Keegan could start being in the future star conversation if he can consistently string these types of offensive performances togetherIf anyone taped this game, go back and count the number of times Banchero drove into the paint and threw up an attempt which didn't even come close to hitting the rim. Some of them didn't even reach the backboard. It felt like on at least half of his shot attempts in the paint he has was just ref-baiting, flailing wildly for calls. He also had 8 TO which should have been 10 TO -- that shot-clock violation wasn't credited as a TO in the box score for some reason and the ball he lost at the end of the game out of bounds was reversed erroneously.
I'm only harping on this because Banchero was the prize of that draft year and the same types of arguments which led to Keegan Murray being undervalued because of his play-style are also at play in creating this impression that Banchero is an elite scorer and Keegan is not. Most people are going to look at the box scores and see that Banchero scored 43 points and assume he had the better game but he got to 43 with 14 free throw attempts and a lot of them were absolute gifts. Keegan Murray quietly scored 28 points with zero help from the officials and, crucially, had 0 TO -- which is typical for him. He's been top 6 in TO% since he came into the league...
One guy plays under-control, mistake free basketball and scores primarily as an off-ball compliment to other playmakers and the other dominates almost every possession, throws the ball away routinely, drives into contact with no hope of finishing, and hunts foul calls all game long. Granted when you knock down 6 of 9 three point attempts it's hard to notice anything else but Banchero was the Rookie of the Year last year while shooting only 29.8% from three while Keegan Murray set the all-time rookie record for three pointers while shooting a blistering 41.1% in the process. It's a travesty to me that the wrong guy is being called a star.
Now that i know Fox wasn’t feeling well and coughing on the bench, im even more impressed with the clutch baskets he made in double OT. We’re so lucky to have some of the players we have on this squad.Fox has been a complete non factor. Extremely disappointing
I can’t wait for the playoffs. Keegan is going to make HUGE plays for us when it comes, I’d bet my house on it.Keegan is coming in clutch man. Huge box out there, 2 huge boards the previous 2 possessions.

The Kings are better than a few teams out west, so i wouldn’t worry too much about seeding. Barring you know what *knock on wood* this certainly isn’t a play-in team and i trust their ability to win on the road.Ehh, Not sure they look back at the end of the season and feel that way, if the seedings are tight. Would assume they will be
I don't think that's a proper analysis. Someone else already mentioned this in another thread once but he was right, Sabonis struggles to score and when he does, he has to work hard for it. Bang, bang bang inside, lower your shoulder. Take a hit across the head, arm, what have you. Jokic scores with ease both inside and out, you see the flow in his game. Not to take anything away from Sabonis and the importance for this team, he is the engine and Fox is the snake. I believe a proper way to look at it is he's a natural PG in a centers body and so with that said, if you envision him being a number two option next to Fox, well I just don't see that as a winning formula for the Postseason. I'd imagine Kings are hoping Murray turns into that, unless Monte can trade for another scorer without gutting his depth.
