If the wolves or nets get wall, should we make a play for harris or flynn? I know too many ifs

Why? 'Reke is our PG, and moving him to SG would remove a huge mismatch that we have in our favour. People need to come to terms with Tyreke as our PG.

Tyreke would have a mismatch at either g position. That is y he is valuable. Ask Magic.

We HAVE a pg that just won ROY. PG is the one position we don't need help. Why would we want to make a play for another pg? I'm stuggling to understand this line of thinking.

What does ROY have to do with this? U dont think jordan or labron. Would have been ROY if they were the "PG" even tyreke admits that he is a bb player. I dont think being a 1 or 2 matters he can do both.

we already have our PG of the future. we need a star C or PF. a nice big ball handling SG like ron harper would be nice to pair w/ reke in the backcourt

Right. My original why was to the OP - why do we want Harris or Flynn?

What this team needs is talent. If we draft a big get a talent g in a trade how can thay be bad

right now our biggest advantage is reke's size mismatch at the PG spot.
Hes big enough to dominate the biggest PG's in the league physically. And hes quick and long enough to defend the quickest ones.Rekes proven he can handle the PG spot, and hes willing to improve his passing as we saw him improve greatly over the year. so theres no reason why we should move him to SG. We need to build around his mismatch.

You started this thread, so why don't you present your case for moving Tyreke off the ball. You haven't said anything factual regarding moving Tyreke to sg. Until you do, there really isn't a reason to discuss it, because you don't even know why you would to it.

Why? Why? Why? Why go after another pg? Please enlighten us.

We need a sg, starting pf, and center. Our sf's are young, but promising, and I would think either Omri or Donte will fit into the starting sf role nicely within a year or two. Right now our pg is our best player. You want to move him to another position, play him off the ball where he is at his worst, and trade away other young talent we have to get this done. Why? Trading Noc for Harris definatly isn't happening.

Forget the PG. The ball is staying in Tyreke's hands. Do you actually expect Petrie to undo what he just did with Evans? Not.in.a.million.years.

As for who best to pair with him in the backcourt? Another guy his size so that they can switch on picks easily and has decent handles. A very good defender on ones and twos and has a nice perimeter shot off the dribble drive kickouts. I'm open to find one better than Beno or Cisco. But Flynn or Harris don't fit that.

You seem to be avoiding the question everyone is asking you. We know the team needs as much talent as it can get. But with needs at the SG position and center position, why would we trade for a position we already have filled. We already have a backup pt guard in Beno, and he played very well last year. What we need is a SG that's as tall as Tyreke, who can handle the ball, pass the ball and play good defense. Then you have a serious matchup for the other team.

You move Tyreke to the SG position and aquire Harris, or worse yet, Flynn, you give up that advantage. Your now no different than any other team height wise in the backcourt. And with Flynn, your probably giving up size at that position.

If PW's going to continue with the dual-guard arrangement we've mostly been using, I'd like to see any PG we acquire be an upgrade from Beno, not just additional depth. I expected Flynn to do better than he has, I've been kind of let down by his rookie year. I'm not sure that he'd be an upgrade, at this stage.

Now, if they wanted to give up on Rubio's ever coming to Minny, and give us his rights for a reasonable price, that might be different.

I understand what your saying. But for the sake of the sanity on this fourm, I want Rubio as far away from this team as possible. I'm willing to accept Tyreke as the point guard of this team. We pick up Rubio and we're right back into the point guard controversy. For now, I perfer Tyreke and Beno as our pt guards. What we need is a good SG that compliments Tyreke.

Understand, I have nothing against Rubio. I just think that the last thing the team needs right now is disruption where Tyreke is concerned.

The Rubio love affair on this board will never end. "We have one of the best rookie point guards ever! Lets figure out a way to get ricky rubio!!" Good lord.

sanity on this fourm

You've noticed sanity on this forum? Hmm.

While I'm not sure that I'd agree, I would agree that, if it does exist, it's fragile.

I doubt that the FO should be making personnel decisions based on what the impact will be for kingsfans fora, but if you want to not talk about it, that's fine with me. I was done.

Evans is our PG offensively, but I wouldn't mind him moving to the 2 defensively. Fact is that he's 6'5 220 and he's going to be handling the ball quite a bit in his career, he's not going to be able to chase down PG's forever.

This is true, but I might give him at least until 22 before he starts to slow down. ;)

Wait

you all still think Evans is a PG? The season is over, KMart is gone and he's been playing next to Beno for most of the time since. How deep does the bull**** go?

No.

Simply put it this way. Evans would not be as effective playing shooting guard as he is playing point guard. This team capitalizes on having to play Evans as point guard because of the mismatch he creates ( in favor of us ) playing against the smaller point guards of the other teams. Gilbert Arenas who is another big guard will tell you the whole story of that.

Now, you get Flynn or Rubio and you end up having to play Evans at the 2, and therefore you also end up giving up the advantage we have on having a "Lebron of point guards". That would be a lot of wasting of talent and advantage just so because you want Flynn or Rubio.

Now regarding Harris, do you honestly believe "overpaying" for another midget like Harris ( who does not also defend very well like Beno ) would help the team? It is like duplicating the "new improved" Beno's role on this team and worse overpaying for his services. If we can swap Beno and Harris, then I am fine with getting Harris. But to add and overpay for Harris when we already have Beno is not a wise. I would rather spend the money on a bigger shooting guard who can handle the ball and defend ( so we can retain the size advantage of Evans at the point guard ) or get that defensive BIG.

Right now, our first priority should be that defensive BIG ( preferably a center with opposite qualities of Hawes ) Second is that big shooting guard which will enhance Evans advantage playing point guard. No more, no less until we find out what else needs to be added.

Primary ballhandler = PG, IMO. That's my bottom line definition, if you have a different definition, fine, but that's what it means to me.
