If y'all's Kings were to drop to the 6th seed and play Seattle, I'd bet that you would make the 2nd round of the playoffs (and I would be routing for your team to advance), but if the current seeding stands, I see y'alls fate as being significantly more problematic...

Sad, but true. Memphis and Seattle are the only two teams I think we can beat in a seven game series at our current tilt.

I disagree - we have usually played the Mavs VERY well in the PO and beat them the last game we played with our new lineup. I'm not saying we'd be favored in the series, but a Mavs matchup doesn't seem all doom-n-gloom to me....

We can take 'em. :)

I honestly beleive that we are capable of beating N-E-one in the playoffs. Denver and Phoenix would be huge upsets but I think we COULD do it!

Bibby just needs to play D against Nash.. and everything might go well.

Sorry, I don't think the Mavs are all that scary. Talent up the wazoo, sure, but where's the experience besides Dirk and Finley? It's not a foregone conclusion that the Mavs would win that series, IMO.

It's Not Our Opponents That's Gonna Beat Us ...

It's the King's themselves ....

If the King's ... and that's a BIG IF !!!

Play the kinda ball they're capable of playing .... doesn't matter who our King's match-up with.

Things have been on the upswing for our King's these past 4 games, and from here-on-out is when our King's should be playing THEIR BEST BALL !!!!

King's will play the cards they are dealt ... don't even worry about who we get and just keep on ballin' !!!

Sure we could do it and I hope we can do it, but I have strong doubts.

Last year, I was really nervous about the Kings playing Dallas in the first round. Then we beat them in 5 games. I'm having that same kind of anxiety this year, so we should be fine. :D

Seriously though, the only team that I'm concerned about Sac facing in the PO's is the Spurs (obviously). I'm going to wait until these next 2 games vs Phoenix before I judge that matchup, but before the trade I would have bet on Sac in a series. Houston could be tough too but as long as we keep McGrady (and Padgett...) under control Sac can beat them. Denver and Memphis have young guys that like to run, but so do we, and ours are more effective. Seattle will be beaten in the first round by whoever plays them (either Houston or Denver), but Sac would beat them too. This year the championship is there for the taking and NOBODY is expecting Sac to do much. They have the talent, we'll see if they have the balls.

They don't lose until they play Phoenix/San Antone.

I'll wait until we play the next 2 games against the Suns before I make a decision on our chances with them.

Nobody gave the Lakers a shot against the Spurs last year either....

Let's just see how everyone looks after the regular season is over with injuries, etc.

Somehow the Suns are incredibly underrated on this board. We're the third best team in the Western Conference. I firmly believe that. But don't discard what the Suns are capable of because of "conventional wisdom" or past histories. You win basketball games by scoring points. I haven't seen a team since Showtime that had the ability to jump up on a team by 20 in minutes. They also play better defense than they get credit for. To be honest, I think we have a better chance against the Spurs than we do against the Suns. How many teams have won their season series with Phoenix? Golden State?

I think that if we were to play Sonics/Suns/Spurs then we might have a chance at taking it all the way. If we play Dallas the first round.......................I love the Kings.............but I think that we will be knocked out the first round. :(

I still hope for the best though!!!! :D

According to the results of this poll - our only concern is getting to the finals. Once we get there - it will be a piece of cake ;)
how do u think miami is a piece of cake

... I'm pretty sure piksi was making a comical statement... ;)

I said "All the way" but if we only get one decent upset I'll be satisfied. :)

Yeah for a probable 1 seed they sure dontget much respect. I think they have a real shot to go all the way. If they stay healthy and Nash is 100%. They are kinda small but they have great rebounding from Marion to balance that out somewhat!

Boy this poll is really switching, we were going to lose in the first 2 rounds but now we're going all the way. I'd love to see that happen but realistically I'm not holding my breath unless we keep our consistency. The west is so competetive right now, anything could happen but beating the Heat, that's tough. Let's see how we do against Suns. If we play like we can we could beat everyone but will we?

Hey, a couple of nice cushy wins against the dregs of the league and we are ready to blow out the Spurs. Birng 'em on! ;)

KP - I would like to be able to express my opinion in it. If you think about it, almost all surveys, polls, etc. have a provision for people to indicate the "none of the above" or "I don't know" option. There are fans who, like me, honestly do not know how far they think the Kings will go. Unlike some prior years when I felt down to my very toes the Kings should and could get to the NBA finals, this just isn't one of those years. My response of I don't know is every bit as valid as someone who thinks the Kings are going to bomb out in the first round OR go all the way.__________________
How can you know what I'm gonna do when I don't even know? - BartKing

GO KINGS!
Remember the 1975 Warriors. They were in much the same situation that the kings are in right now. No one thought they would go anywhere in the playoffs. But as you all know, they won the title that year, so anything is possible. Its not going to be easy. I think that if Brad and Bobby come back, get their game legs back, can contribute some minutes then we have as good a chance as anyone.

This thread has taken a few crazy turns. The voting was similar to what I expected. It's been a fun thread to check in on during this break. I'll definitely make another one when the seeding is all set! Too bad we might never know exactly what's going on with Brad and Bobby. I've never heard so many conflicting reports!
